I'm in. Third and last of the week. Not doing well weight wise. Obviously I am eating too much!

:clover: Yes I'm in willingly for a fast today after an unexpected meal out last night where I ate far to much
Hi, I'm in today. I usually do Tuesday and Thursday, but worked from home yesterday and might have had difficulty resisting temptation.

I think that having two days between fasts might suit me more, I find just the one day a bit harder, knowing it's two days to until the next fast somehow makes it seem easier.

Good luck everyone!
Hi All, I've gone pretty well and I so touched by all the support! I kinda didn't want to fail and then have to post a fail up here. I might have run away if it didn't work. But I doubt it. The forum is so supportive.

In 3 hours time I will have completed the 24 hr fast!! :like:

It's been an interesting day. I had an egg for breakfast, then two radishes, at 11am I was alarmed by hunger, such that I thought I'd have a break-out. But I texted a friend who encouraged me to keep going. I then had another radish, a cup of miso soup, and then a cup of broth, and then an apple, dinner i had beef and vegie miso soup. I sipped on tea all day using my one cup of full cream milk i treated myself to. I stayed within the cal allocation.

I'm hoping I can keep doing it. It was scarey to come close to breaking it though. I'm surprised I got through it as i felt a strong resolve to go eat whatever I wanted TWICE.

ohh does anyone else notice their sense of smell is stronger during a fast? I cut up some garlic and thought it was going to make me faint it smelt so strong lol. I could then not get the smell off my hands. Usually I don't notice it and eat heaps of it.

Good luck to other fasters today and thanks again for encouragement.

Hope your fast day went well Jo.
I am in for my third fast of the week & my OHs second but he only has 7 lbs to lose now. I am finding 4:3 easy to do & encouraged by reading Krista Varadys new book The Every Other Day Diet that makes it sound so doable. I deliberately ate more than usual yesterday, she says you can eat as much as you like on feasting days, to test out if it does affect my weight loss this week. I am weighing tomorrow.
Good luck everyone fasting today.
Good luck Cilla, 3 fasts in one week? Wow.
Julie I shopped today and found it a bad idea, although I just brought things for the fast, I imagine it would be hard it was my normal shop. Hope its gone ok.
Hi AiriR, good luck with the cool change and the fast, hope its gone well.
Thanks Bracken I'm nervous and excited about the journey, that's really the word it!! Hope your fast goes well.
Karen, thank you, I'm pleased you like my signature. Im big on support for myself and others, and appreciate yours. Good luck today.
Jo
I'm in today! I normally fast on Thursdays but Friday suited me better this week.

Welcome to all the newbies. I have been doing this for nearly a year, although I did slip off the straight and narrow a few months after reaching my target in July. However, I'm back now and well on the way to shifting the weight that I regained.

Stay strong, stay hydrated and have a good day! Onwards and downwards! :clover:
Hello Jo05 and a big welcome from me!

I have just "lost" a very long reply I had just written to you! Must've pressed something by mistake.....am not the most computer literate of people!

Will write it again once I have had some soup! Am fasting alongside you today.......like many others!

Good luck - you can do it! Take one day at a time - you will do fine!

Am going to risk an icon now......but that's what got me into trouble on my last (long winded but fascinating) post to you!!

Jo

I have done a 4:3 since I started the WOE. Seems to suit me x
Hello fellow Friday fasters. This is my first Friday fast, first following four-three and it's going fine!
I still haven't been shopping.

As for your hunger pangs @Jo05. Many of us find that as soon as we eat on a fast day the hunger monster hits. So we delay eating till the evening then have a decent meal with the family. I try and do liquid fasts only now, it seems rather radical to new fasters, but I have been doing it for nearly a year so have adapted to fasting.

There is a thread here about the 'hunger switch' that you may find useful.

Finishing off work now, I managed to avoid the leftover sandwiches and cakes from a meeting (though was tempted), but did have a few plum tomatoes. Aside from this have stuck to coffee with skimmed milk and water - I get through heaps of sparkling water on down days.

Home made soup is waiting at home.

Oh, and welcome to the site Jo05, it will get easier.

Hi Hazel, Your icon worked! sorry you lost your post, that's so frustrating. I generally write long posts in a word doc just in case i lose it and cut and paste it in.
Hope your fast went well. I'm happy with mine and look forward to seeing how I go.\
Thanks Jo :clover:

Thanks Egduf.

Hope the soup was good and well done with the sandwiches at work.
I made a nice miso soup - I found it did the trick. Strangely enough though, the most satisfying thing I ate the whole day was an apple at around 4pm. It sooo filled me.
Cheers

Thanks for the link - its all a complex maze isn't it? All info helps in some small way. I did find the apple i ate at 4pm saved me without hunger after it. But dinner, which was 260 cals, didn't fill me like I thought it would. The hunger I had after that scared me and I sat in front of the TV and just remembered how the cravings will pass.
Thanks so much
