Was supposed to fast yesterday but flew to Melbourne to meet the other half and he insisted in dragging me in Mamak for a roti chanai. (He didn't insist I ate it, I did that all on my own!).

So, fasting today instead. Took friend's mutt for a long walk and am now sipping lemongrass and ginger tea. It's lunchtime and I haven't felt hungry yet which is a definite bonus.
I was reading the Robert Lustig article on sugar and am guilty of how much sugar I eat, way too much, I have such a sweet tooth, it can be a monster inside, especially when Lindt milk chocolate is on special! So, I am going to try and cut it right out apart from one day a week, which will be really hard, but I felt that trying to avoid it completely might lead to a crash and burn (remember the mayor in the chocolate shop in Chocolat? That would be me!).

I have been on my own at home for a week and boredom eating took over but I shall pick myself up and try and clean up like the sugar junkie I know I am!

Good luck all fasting today, when you get there!
So I read on MSN the Melbourne has been voted the most livable city in the entire world. Congrats Aussies! I am trying to get back on the 'fast' track. I did well on Monday, failed on Wed and
Thursday. Friday???? I hope. I have had such little focus/willpower lately and I'm so close to just being overweight, lol. Who would want to be just overweight and be happy? ME.
Fasting Friday as well thank goodness. Had chocolate fondue today at work...chocolate on bananas, pineapple, potato chips, marshmallows, strawberries...the list goes on and on...
I've got the mid arvo hunger pangs... think it's because I'm having milk in my tea today. Normally I don't have anything other than water/green tea/rooibos and find I get very little (none really) actual hunger.

Melbourne is a wonderful city, we lived there for 7 years (before the awful weather drove us north to Queensland - yes it really is that bad! Grey, wet, drizzley winter lasts for about 9 months!)
Am in too!

hope its a good one, warm in Londn today!

happy fasting everyone :-)
I'm in today after changing yesterday's planned fast to a 16:8 to fend off a migraine. That worked so win win!
Only thing is I'm really hungry today and it's only coming on to 10 o'clock!
And it's hot
and I'm on my own at home ( not that unusual but using it as an excuse today!)
and I've been up for ages already...
nothing solid/calorie until tea time - had a test taste of pasta I was cooking and spat it out when I confirmed it was al dente. How mental is that
BUT
i'm going to make bread and salted caramel brownies for tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the reckoning - weigh in and measuring after 3 weeks 4:3 after being on holiday. Have actually considered one more week blind to be in line with the big September weigh in. I'l decide tomorrow.
Love Melbourne too- only spent a week there but felt so at home.
Happy fasting everyone :clover:
Fasting today but struggling at the moment to be honest and not really feeling it... :frown: Not sure why my mood has dipped but hopefully it will turn again soon as I was feeling pretty chipper until this week, since having a bit of a cold. I have put a couple of pounds back on and it does go up and down anyway - although it is not usually by a couple of pounds - but trying not to mind that as I realise that fluctuations are inevitable on this WOE and I have no plans to calorie count on my non fast days but slightly worried about an impending holiday as I wont be fasting during that.
Salted caramel brownie recipe please janeg!!!!
I make the best chocolate ones but they sound great!
Yes me too, because of Bank Holiday, and busy yesterday. Sunny here in NE UK, the last of the summer I think. I too am having time off mid- month, with a long weekend in Scotland with Full Scottish Breakfasts ...
Yes count me in :like: just having a coffee then a walk :clover: Sue
Fast day soon comes round and because I'm following 16:8 on the other days I shall have a salad for lunch and something cooked later in the day. Such a chatty and helpful forum where we all discuss lots of topics other than food. One more week on holiday and then we'll see how I get on when I am back home!
I'm in  last fast of the week. Have been very good this week as we are having our yearly bbq with all the families tomorrow so won't be then! Have a good day all
Can I come too silverdarling- please!
recipe is at
http://www.smittenkitchen.com/blog/2013 ... -brownies/
never made them before and have been drooling
Have a slight 'thing' about trying salted caramel- unsuccessful trying to get it in the sandpit to try but managed to find a bar of chocolate with the stuff in it in Scotland. Bought one and shared it with my friend and never saw it again anywhere!
If I hadn't eaten it with said friend I would have been convinced that I hallucinated it
Hopefully this will settle the 'thing'
BUT can't try them until tomorrow...
I'm in today. Tried yesterday and did reasonably well but the munchies took over in the evening and one led to a whole packet of Tuc cheese sandwich biscuits, then chocolate, then crisps... I could go on. Nevertheless today is another day so onwards and downwards. Good luck to all fasting today.
I'm in! Last of the three.
Enjoyed my food yesterday and made a conscious effort to eat whatever I liked including a glass of wine with dinner and a 'Baileys' afterwards.
Happy fasting everyone x
