fasting today Friday 6th June
06 Jun 2014, 03:23
yay, am I the first for a Friday fast? - just having some shredded cabbage & carrot & three small falafel (80 cal) for lunch, then prob hairy biker's chilli con carne for dinner. Did my HIIT yesterday, so maybe just a slow jog with my step-doggie later on for exercise, although I've already done a heavy pilates session earlier today, I normally don't count that.

Pretty stoked since I've passed another milestone, this time the 100 kg mark - I haven't weighed less than 100 kg in around 30 years I think - feel a bit like I'm in a time warp actually. How bizarre - "how does it feel?" I hear you say - answer - I don't really know yet, a little discombobulating, just seeing 3 figures instead of 4 on the scales for the past few days.

Good luck Friday fasters!
:like: @Jools7 congrats on your milestone! That's so inspirational, continued great work & success. :like:
Congrats on your milestone, jools7!

I am also fasting today. My second since I've been back. I stepped on the scales yesterday and was a shocking 4kg above goal weight. I haven't gotten back down to goal since Xmas, but this is as bad as it has gotten. I feared it, and had thought that I might do a few fasts before daring to step on the scales… Anyway, so far it's motivating me rather than discouraging me, so it was probably the right decision. Hopefully it will be easy on, easy off. I blame Italy. The food was just too good!
I'm also up for it today! I will be busy, writing school reports, looking after our youngest grandchild for the morning, driving 70 miles round trip for that, teaching 3 students in the evening and then Dinner! Celeriac- topped light cottage pie.
Good fasting with a purpose everyone :clover:
I am fasting too, third for the week. Always a bit quiet for Friday fasts but hopefully a few more will be along soon. Well done Jools, if only we could bottle that feeling!
Running errands this morning with a friend who is temporarily on crutches so cannot drive.
Will be home later for the day but planning to cut grass again. I do need to bake more cakes but may leave that tomorrow....there is only so much temptation I deal with!
Stay with it fellow fasters, together we can do this.

I go to Italy once (twice if lucky) a year to visit my parents.... I ALWAYS come back 7-10lbs heavier! Every time I go with the best of intentions but alas I still turn into a hoover! Drives me up the wall...
I'm in. I am finding my body and mind welcome fasting. I feel different when I wake up knowing it's a fast day. Not hungry. Weird and nice at the same time.
Happy fasting everyone. x
I' m in for third fast! Could i be turning into a 4:3 er!
Well done Jools on your success! That is a major milestone! X
Bob @Bobshouse leave that baking til tomoz if you can!
Best of luck@GeorgeA for your first fast!
Have a groovy day Fab Friday Fasting Friends. X
I'm in today. My first real fast since getting back from uk on sunday. Tried fasting on wednesday but it all went wrong in the evening. Today I will do this, I had a lovely walk this morning and now I'm going to do some more sorting out, getting ready to move.
Well done @jools7 you're doing great. :)
I'm in today, too. I decided to do 4:3 again this week - that 'wiggle room' before a cruise is absolutely essential for me. So far, so good today. I have finished the quarterly VAT return for our small family engineering business, so that has kept me busy. I have turkey mince and lots of vegetables in the fridge but no inspiration yet about what I will do with it for dinner this evening.

I would love to get out into the garden but I have three sets of committee minutes to do and a visit to the eye clinic at the hospital this afternoon. I know that with the eye drops they use, I shall not be able to see/do anything much when I get back, so I better get on with those minutes right now! :frown:

No more forum for me - for a little while anyway! I have to admit that it is my 'food substitute' of choice, especially on a fast day!

Onwards and downwards, my fellow fasting friends. Stay strong, hydrated and busy!
@jools7 so SO good, your fantastic news encourages everyone, but most of all you! Well done and have a happy day.
Enjoy yr cruise@StowgateResident!
How is everybody getting on today? I am finding it a little challenging..third fast and i think my tum is going,oh come on! Two days was enough!
I usually have a slimmasoup about 4.30 pm, could be earlier today x :starving:
I'm doing well today, my morning walk seems to really help. Think I'll have a soup, it felt like I'd had lunch when I had one the other day. Today my dad was telling me about an article he'd read about fasting and all the health benefits. Funny that, I'm sure I've said all that to him already. He knows I fast. Anyway he's thinking of starting, I keep telling him to watch the Dr M documentary but he hasn't yet. The article he read was about fasting for 3 or 4 days at a time, it mentioned the guy in Dr M's doc (sorry don't remember his name) the one that told Dr M to fast for 4 days. I told my dad it's much easier to do it one day at a time. He has to eat something with his meds in the morning and normally has a couple of toast but I've told him to just have a boiled egg and then evening meal with me on fastdays. I'll ask him on Monday if he's fasting with me and make him a nice fastday chicken salad for dinner. We'll see. This fasting thing's contagious :)
Just gone 5pm here and have not broken my fast. Last food was 7pm last night. Will have dinner about 6.30- 7pm tonight. Has been fairly easy really. I am hungry but am happy to wait a bit longer so it cannot be that bad!
Hey @Jools7 - that is fantastic news re the milestone - very well done you! Am thrilled for you...

Am not on this thread today because life has rather got in the way of fasting this week. Decided to have a little look at this thread out of guilt for not being part of it and spotted your post.....so I had to come out of the shadows to congratulate you!

Am slinking off now.......goodbye good people!!
