It might only be a half fast for me (usual soft-boiled egg breakfast, miso soup at about 3, but probably more than 400 cals for dinner since I've agreed to go out with friends). The first post-holiday fast was easier than I expected. I hope today goes so smoothly…

Good luck, Friday fasters!
All the best to you @MaryAnn.

I've yet to bed, but once I'm up: I'm going for my third mid / post holiday-season repair days. Last Wednesday was slightly sabotaged by visitors but I'm hoping that, now we've hit the third of the month, things will go a little quiet.

I have a dirty great bag of salad in mind, along with some FatDog oat bran / linseed / soya bread (see my log for the recipe - easy and does in the ping machine in less than five minutes!) with cream cheese and, perhaps, the odd dried apricot. It might be a half-repair though, Fridays usually are...

All the very best to others repairing - I've not found the post-celebration repairs easy *at all*, but they're do-able and, once done, easily do-able again

xxx Fatdog

Edit: herewith a link to a version of my OLS bread recipe

Well some of our best well laid plans do just go astray. I was all prepared to fast today but life happened and I pretty much didn't get more than 1hour of sleep last night. So in support I have spent today available and cooking for the tired and hungry around my place. I have had an unexpected wey hey day consuming lots of fruit ahem amongst other things

It is just the kind of day to bake bread so @FatDog you must have read my mind as I was going to fossick through your threat for the bread recipe as you have mentioned it a bit in your last couple of posts. I also may need to join the Stilton anonymous club. Boy have I got that addiction real bad. But I thought your bread and my Stilton might be a match made in wheat free heaven.

Enough prattling have a great fast everyone and I dearly hope to make tomorrow my first fantastic fast day for 2014
i've packed it in because of a lunch invitation. Half-fasts never seem to work out for me. I seem to be all in or not at all… Anyway, tomorrow I will definitely fast.
Good morning at least I'm trying to view it that way. Both my OH & I are fasting today with for me an unexpectedly early start at 6-45am being woken by him, unexpectedly for me anyway, getting ready to go to work! I had thought he may be drifting into work around midday for his usual Friday handover but no it's a full working day. The weather is rainy & windy in West Sussex so I am waiting for a call from him that he got to work OK because of him driving only 10 miles but through narrow tree lined country roads. I have also had little sleep because of difficulty getting to sleep & then being woken a couple of times by the wind. I just feel today is going to be a difficult one fast wise, I have had a coffee but already because of lack of sleep feel sort of hungover & hungry. Oh well I had better try & keep busy with my pile of ironing & washing :frown: with only water & coffee until supper time.
I hope you all have a good day.
I'm in! Back to work today so I have decided the holiday is over now and no more eating between meals and drinking booze. I have really enjoyed the festive season, ate my body weight in chocolate and biscuits, pizza, cheese and drank whole bottles of wine, all guilt free and stayed under my xmas target weight!
But now I am satiated and had enough of rich food and eating and indigestion!!!
I am so happy to be relaxing back into fasting despite a lack of sleep again last night. Bloody insomnia is bothering me lately which leaves me tired and grumpy and lacking in energy.
Happy fasting everyone!
not fasting today (managed a good one yesterday), dropping in to be nosy and wish today's fasters well. :clover: :)
my fast wasn't so great yesterday - was at about 530 cals when I went to my parents and had a cup of homemade chilli, and then came home from cinema and snacked on walnuts and peanuts. At least it was all paleo I suppose and carb free but ended up at 1000 cals. So today is a fast day - I have to fast today from 6pm anyway as have endoscopy tomorrow :-( so this should help me do one full fast - I've not managed one in about 6weeks- keep giving in. I feel shoddy today- no sleep and tickly throat
Hi, I'm in today for my only one this week, feeling in need of it as I've been drinking almost every night. Feeling a bit bloated, but will be glad to get back to drinking only 2-3 nights per week. I at least managed an 8 km run on Monday which felt OK.

Now on my second coffee of the day, will get some sparkling water and then not eat until tonight, soup and raw veg seem to suit me.

@jmousey - hope the endoscopy goes well.

Good luck everyone :clover:
Ooh it's a quiet thread today!
I am in for the first time in 2 weeks and totally dreading it!
Have no idea what damage has been done over the hols but have slipped badly into drinking every day and also some mindless eating.
Feel quite bloated and sluggish but also hungry :starving: and very grumpy :frown:
Hello Fasters!

This is my second (2pm-2pm) fast since the 31st Dec. All good, but then again, I look forward and actually enjoy my fasts - anyone with me on this or am I the odd one out?
I'm in, was undecided whether to fast today as I fasted yesterday but have only managed 1 fast this week, but as I woke up not hungry I decided to go for it. This might end up being a half fast, depending on how the day goes I might have a light lunch and have a 400 cal dinner planned as have leftovers from yesterday.
Yes I am fasting today (Friday). The day is pretty much over in this part of the world I have had my dinner of a piece of grilled fish, some pan fried mushrooms with a sprinkling of feta, pine nuts and balsamic glaze and parsley.

The fast today went well up until now (after dinner) I am feeling hungry but no way in the world am I going to break my fast now. I have some left over mushrooms that I am allowing myself to have tomorrow morning for breakfast with bacon. Must keep strong until tomorrow, must keep strong until tomorrow.

Overall I am glad to be back to fasting and to see that most of the Christmas/New Years foods have either been finished or are packed away in the freezer so they can be reinvented into another meal later on.

The last couple of days my tummy has been a bit grumpy from all the rich foods and drinking (I normally only drink on festive occasions). So last night after dinner I enjoyed a mango with some yoghurt and a sprinkling of walnuts. I really needed the yoghurt to help settle my gut down.

As difficult as this evening is turning out to be (the day was fine) I am glad to be fasting again (and eating more normally now that the festivities are over). I think I should just go and distract myself with a nice pampering shower, set my hair and just relax for a bit before going to bed.
Like @gillymary I had good intentions to fast yesterday (Thursday) that feel through from the get go. So I'm psyched for my fast today; looking forward to that hollow feeling in my belly after the horrible feeling of bloatedness I've had eating bread (my downfall!).

It's been snowing constantly here in Boston for about 24 hours, I didn't leave home yesterday so my fitbit is anxious and hungry as it only registered 1500 steps - I live in a flat and there's only so much circling I can do). Unfortunately today looks like it may be the same; keeping my fingers crossed the gym opens after midday so I can at least move a bit!

Good luck everyone with your fasts - my first for 2014 but by no means the last :-)

Happy Friday.
Happy Friday Jeninboston! It's nearly finished here.
