I'm in too after a hefty 5 days in Madrid. I tried a fast yesterday but it was a disaster so trying again today. Bank holiday weekend here so have to get today and tomorrow in ( even if I hit 500 today and 600 tomorrow) so need to get some shopping in as I will need lots of veg soup for tomorrow
Oh wow! @Debs we don't often fast on the same day do we! How lovely...although I'm guessing your day has nearly finished. Did it go well? My day has just begun and its the dreaded TOTM so luckily I don't feel that hungry anyway...just grotsy! Its pretty gloomy here too, with grey skies and rain. What happened to the Spring weather, eh?

Well, good luck everyone. Hope your fasting day goes well, especially Rachel, who is fasting for the very first time today!

Good luck

Bean :starving:
I'm fasting today off out for a short walk
:clover: Good. Luck to all have a good day. :clover: :clover: :clover:
Hey there String Bean! Yes, we are in sync today and it is 4.30 here and am contemplating a simple repast tonight. Weather is a stubborn 30 here and relentlessly sunny. It is apparently 'cold' in the mornings at 17 degrees and people are demanding coats!!
Good luck those just starting!
When do you start getting your winter @Debs? I think my sister, who lives in Canada is pretty happy now because the snow has finally gone and the temperatures are in the pluses.

Happy May Day everyone!

Bean :starving:
Nice to read all the May Day Fasting Posts on here. I am fasting today also. I am feeling in a very good mood, but that might be because its a public holiday here in Spain and I know I can relax. Good luck everyone, I will look in later this evening. XXX
Up here in the Pilbara, never bean!! Just gets a bit cooler but the day time temps are always mid 20s in the winter! At home, it does get parky June to Sept but can snow on the hills any time of the year and gets icy blasts off of Antarctica.
We're off to Canada and Alaska in three weeks and are packing the woolies!!
Hello everybody

I started the day off with good intentions and managed to fast until around midday, then I had a cup of tea and some coffee café, and the rest is history :curse: :curse:

Didn't help with my OH coming home with a fresh loaf of Sourdough bread for the bakery. :starving:

I did manage a 30 min walk this morning, so that is my good thing off my list, but I think the weight has been slowly creeping up this week. :frown:

The cold weather doesn't help my mood, I will have to change something, very soon!! :frown: :frown:

cheers
Maggie
I'm fasting too today

Good luck everyone :clover: :victory:
Ooooh @Maggiee  , I love coffee cake :starving: and sourdough bread (with lots of butter on :starving: :starving: !!!)

Well done on the 30 min walk :like: :victory:
Oh what?!! @Debs I am SO jealous! What a contrast though!

Bean
I am also fasting today....being good so far. Good luck everyone. :clover:
You all seem so good at starving. I am having few eats to break up the day and of course milkless teas of various flavours. So it was a pear for breakfast and a carrot for elevenses. I have a courgette planned for lunch that will be fried on ceramic pan with tiny bit of oil with garlic then add tomatoe puree. Maybe a one egg omellette with toms, mushrooms and herbs for tea and supper of greek yogurt and granola. I am sure that has been discussed but wonder if better to save all your allowance for one decent meal or break it down into load of mini snacks?
Hi @AOB117 and welcome :)

How you manage fast days is whatever works for you. :) However, it does seem to be common experience that eating anything unleashes the "hunger monster", so many of us put off eating for as long as possible, and just drunk lots and keep busy - and maybe have a broth such as miso soup if really can't hold out til dinner. And there is also the benefit of having a longer period with no food consumed.

But, as I said, each of us finds what works best for us. When I started, I did have 3 small meals a day, but now enjoy a 2-course dinner. Overall, fasting does get easier with practice, tho we all have our days when fasting is difficult.

Very best wishes with it all! :)
Thankyou for that Sassy! I suppose it is boredom factor plus the routine habit of sitting down to eat at breakpoints in the day. I am making a lot of mileage out of that carrot break... still a bit left an hour later.

I did 5:2 for few weeks last year and was pleased with progress. Only downside was bad headache/poor sleep at night which I think is sugar deprivation. So this time I am aiming to have something like a yogurt at bedtime. So far so good....
