Managed to get to dinner time without eating - then had a veggie stir fry with those low cal noodles. Very filling. :)

@Sallyo - yes, I am keeping the "Success Diary". It's not telling me a lot I didn't already know - as you say, fast days teach you a lot about feeling hungry!! But over time fasting does seem to dampen the awareness of hunger (except if a famine reaction is happening...). So I am not too good at assessing how hungry I am, but I am getting better at realising just how full I am. Which is good because one of my major weight management issues is eating when I am already full. I will certainly be reporting on my experiences, and will keep you in the loop! :D
Hello all!

I'm in with you today. Planning to do Mon/Wed/Fri this week to atone for 4 days away last week with a bunch of girlfriends. We'll see what the scales say tomorrow regarding the damage done (!).....meanwhile I am pretty proud of myself for fasting today....because in the past, I have held on to the holiday mentality for weeks after my return. So...a small but significant step for me, though I do say it myself!

I'm hungry right now..but experience tells me it's nothing to fear, so I'm going to ignore it!

Good luck all! Xx
I'm in today. Only a pound over my target weight at yesterday's weigh in but ate really badly yesterday and Saturday, so thought that I would throw in a fast or two this week, just to counteract the excess!
Good luck all! Keep busy, keep hydrated and keep strong!
Hi fellow fasters, hope everyone is having a successful FD. I'm in today for my first fast since Jan 2014, I was still losing weight doing 6.1 and managed to maintain for over a year by just eating a good healthy lunch and dinner.

Unfortunately I've had a really nasty lupus flare up so had 3 months of very high steroids to bring it back under control. As well as the inevitability appetite increase, I also relied heavily on processed foods due to my husband having to take over all the cooking, cleaning as well as looking after me. I'm now back to my normal level of medication and feeling much better, so time to tackle the 10lb's I've gained. I'm not too concerned as I know this plan works, so onwards and downwards.

Dee
Welcome back @Didee, Hope you have a good day. My day is done. Pumpkin and apple soup. Very nice. And a slice of fresh home made bread with apricot jam for afters.
@Sassy1, I discovered in my 'success diary' that I didn't eat enough vegetables. I don't know if that is still the case: well, today, I've only had pumpkin and onions. And apples. but it was a fast day. Perhaps I should collect a week of stats on that issue. An issue for me, and eating a big range of fruit and veg as she recommends it that I try to eat out of the garden and at the moment, that means pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin and broccoli, broccoli, broccoli. I love a lot of her concepts: the idea of 'fun food', not forbidden food, 'having a party in my mouth' ; 'my body is not the compost bin' so that you don't have to eat everything on your plate so that it won't go to waste. And the weight loss holiday. That makes a lot of sense. I do get diet fatigue - which is what is so great about 5:2 because it's not every day. That's why DODO turned out to be impossible for me. Much happier back on Monday/Thursday. I don't care if I don't lose any more weight. (Just saying: OH has lost 15kg in about 3 weeks by taking fluid reducing tablets!!!!He's gone from obese to a BMI of 27 in 3 weeks. HIs clothes are hanging off him. Bit drastic but. 2 weeks in hospital and millions of medicines. Not recommending it. ) Sorry for this rambling late night post. Hope you all have a great fast today.
In... first fast in over 2 weeks. I had a kind of virus/tummy bug thing... or vertigo.. but I am glad to be back to fasting, even though I don't feel 100%. Felt like I was eating too much if that makes sense.

Anyways, so far so good.. just 2:30 pm here. Looking forward to a baked yakitori salmon with steamed veggies for dinner. I think I'm ready for my afternoon cuppa now!

Hope everyone is well and happy. :) And if you're not, I hope you're on the path at least.
I'm in for my normal Monday fast. I always need one after the weekend! If I could just get my weekends under better control, perhaps I could shift some more weight? Oh well........golf season is here, so my weekend activity has increased dramatically. Keeping good thoughts that the extra movement will help with the weight loss.

Have great days!
 :clover:
I'm in. Had 2 coffees and a lot of water to fill up. Trying to make it to dinner time.

Good luck all :clover:
I'm in. Haven't had anything to eat at all yet. Brought some strawberries to work for "lunch" and plan on saving my calories for dinner. I hate my scale. I've been gaining weight this week, but I've also started working out 2-3 times a week (HIIT classes or spinning) so I'm hoping that I'm just gaining muscle. I'm going to bring out the ol' tape measure tomorrow to see what's going on as far as inches. Pretty sore from yesterday's workout. I've missed this feeling! I still feel pretty good despite what my scale says. Happy Fasting everyone!
I'm in today! My male friend has been "dieting," but was doing it the "old way," which for him is very extreme and ambitious; he's interested in 5:2 and I guess trying it, but still has a lot of wrong ideas about it (he would never read the book). Hopefully he'll get it sorted out...as many of us know, "normal" dieting might lead to weight loss, but almost inevitably also leads to weight regain! Just because you CAN lose fast, doesn't mean it's a good idea! (Has anyone else noticed "the guys"--especially you guys, chime in--being a little competitive about weight loss? Like it's a race? Or is it just him?)

I've posted elsewhere that I've busted my plateau, even though the only restriction I've really carried through is no alcohol. Although I have been better about (not) snacking/nibbling on my normal days, and making sure that I'm actually hungry before eating...went out for brunch on Saturday, split a "skillet" (veggies, potatoes, and cheese, poached eggs) and an order of lemon curd crepes (my fave!) with my son...Yummy! Brought home leftovers, which I ate yesterday. Just after 3pm here, trying to put off my broth till as late as possible...
Finished my fast day dinner - roast cauliflower, thin sandwich of sliced turkey and brie on whole wheat bread. Very small spoon of ice cream. Hope to go to bed earlier than last night, so I'm not so ravenous I can't sleep! It is amazing how much of a vegetable I can eat when it's roasted. It is my favorite way to prepare them now.
@wendyjane, I love roasted veggies too, especially cauliflower! Have you tried parsnip? Sweet! But I prefer broccoli blanched for 3 min.
