@Sallyo - yes, I am keeping the "Success Diary". It's not telling me a lot I didn't already know - as you say, fast days teach you a lot about feeling hungry!! But over time fasting does seem to dampen the awareness of hunger (except if a famine reaction is happening...). So I am not too good at assessing how hungry I am, but I am getting better at realising just how full I am. Which is good because one of my major weight management issues is eating when I am already full. I will certainly be reporting on my experiences, and will keep you in the loop!

I'm in with you today. Planning to do Mon/Wed/Fri this week to atone for 4 days away last week with a bunch of girlfriends. We'll see what the scales say tomorrow regarding the damage done (!).....meanwhile I am pretty proud of myself for fasting today....because in the past, I have held on to the holiday mentality for weeks after my return. So...a small but significant step for me, though I do say it myself!
I'm hungry right now..but experience tells me it's nothing to fear, so I'm going to ignore it!
Good luck all! Xx
Good luck all! Keep busy, keep hydrated and keep strong!
Unfortunately I've had a really nasty lupus flare up so had 3 months of very high steroids to bring it back under control. As well as the inevitability appetite increase, I also relied heavily on processed foods due to my husband having to take over all the cooking, cleaning as well as looking after me. I'm now back to my normal level of medication and feeling much better, so time to tackle the 10lb's I've gained. I'm not too concerned as I know this plan works, so onwards and downwards.

@Sassy1, I discovered in my 'success diary' that I didn't eat enough vegetables. I don't know if that is still the case: well, today, I've only had pumpkin and onions. And apples. but it was a fast day. Perhaps I should collect a week of stats on that issue. An issue for me, and eating a big range of fruit and veg as she recommends it that I try to eat out of the garden and at the moment, that means pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin and broccoli, broccoli, broccoli. I love a lot of her concepts: the idea of 'fun food', not forbidden food, 'having a party in my mouth' ; 'my body is not the compost bin' so that you don't have to eat everything on your plate so that it won't go to waste. And the weight loss holiday. That makes a lot of sense. I do get diet fatigue - which is what is so great about 5:2 because it's not every day. That's why DODO turned out to be impossible for me. Much happier back on Monday/Thursday. I don't care if I don't lose any more weight. (Just saying: OH has lost 15kg in about 3 weeks by taking fluid reducing tablets!!!!He's gone from obese to a BMI of 27 in 3 weeks. HIs clothes are hanging off him. Bit drastic but. 2 weeks in hospital and millions of medicines. Not recommending it. ) Sorry for this rambling late night post. Hope you all have a great fast today.
Anyways, so far so good.. just 2:30 pm here. Looking forward to a baked yakitori salmon with steamed veggies for dinner. I think I'm ready for my afternoon cuppa now!
Hope everyone is well and happy. And if you're not, I hope you're on the path at least.
Have great days!
Good luck all
I've posted elsewhere that I've busted my plateau, even though the only restriction I've really carried through is no alcohol. Although I have been better about (not) snacking/nibbling on my normal days, and making sure that I'm actually hungry before eating...went out for brunch on Saturday, split a "skillet" (veggies, potatoes, and cheese, poached eggs) and an order of lemon curd crepes (my fave!) with my son...Yummy! Brought home leftovers, which I ate yesterday. Just after 3pm here, trying to put off my broth till as late as possible...
