im fasting today , restarted last week after quitting for some time. i would overeat on fast days and quit. But im hoping this time i will stick with it since i have a lot to lose. I will weigh myself only once a week.
I've been in all day too. Busy doing the serious cleaning as the building work is over for the time being, and mother and aunt are coming tomorrow. Not that they'll look or bother!
Cooked for tomorrow and am now really really hungry. The extra hour is really taking it's toll on me. Up early and not eating! early night for janeg methinks. After the poached eggs though
:)
Hello ladies... fasting here today. Very busy at work, which I guess is a good thing. Though I don't think I'd have time for lunch today if I wanted it. Actually I'd probably just be in the office kitchen where all the horrible choco snacks live.

I brought some homemade chicken stock in so I guess I can heat that up, though it's already after 3pm here so might not bother. Lots of fresh food at home, but I haven't decided what to make yet. Not sure I'll have the energy. Oh woe is me. Feeling very self-pitying today...
I'm in today, having my pot o' green tea as usual, will have broth later, snack then dinner 9ish.
I've found it's very important for me to PLAN my dinner ahead of time. Just rummaging through the fridge and throwing something together leads to: 1. Nibbling; and 2. Excess calories (aka fooling yourself...or maybe not).

I find that if I map out my dinner BEFORE making it on MFP it's much easier for me to stay within my calorie limits. And the last few weeks I've eschewed sugar; no more low cal frozen yogurt goodies on light days, I get enough sweets on normal days! If I can do without beer for a day, I can do without sugar. And that I've been losing by doing this makes it easier to persist. Last Thursday I felt nibbly near bedtime, and as I had over 100 cals remaining, had a poached egg rather than sweets. A friend of mine who 5.2's (though I don't know why, she's thin!) complained that she is starving the day after; I suggested she increase her fat on light days (of course while still staying within her cals).
Hi again,
I don't know if you saw my previous post in this thread, but I too have had some thyroid issues. I went hyper last December and I feel like fasting could have contributed to it. Do you know anything about that...can fasting push someone into a hyperthyroid state? Anyway, I am doing my first fast in almost a year today and am feeling great--much better than I did when I tried it last year. Are you dealing with Graves or Hashimotos?
Good luck to you!

Eating 1/2 my calories late morning and then rest mid afternoon. Aiming for a non-eating window till next day of between 16/18 hours. Would love to hear from folks who have thyroid issues who have been on 5:2 for some time with success ( and/or hear how 5:2 affected thyroid function.)
