I'm in for my usual Monday, I already have broken the back of the day only another 2hours and I will have chicken salad :like: Hope you all have an easy day :clover:
urgh, doing well today, but so want to jump on the pack of white maltesers I have in the fridge, but being good and resisting! gonna have a nice casserole instead, hope all of you are doing well :)
@Golarne I LOVE your signature!
Hope you are all holding up well. I am so motivated by having measured and discovered that I have lost an inch from my waist--and this is measuring the morning after stuffing myself with pizza last night. Amazing!

I got pretty hungry by 12:30, so I decided that fasting with no food was probably not going to work for me. So that meant it was time to try out a shirataki noodle recipe. I had tested half the package a few days ago and determined that yes, it is like eating squid, but if hungry, I could eat it, especially with a Chinese-style sauce. Today I was hungry.

I ended up putting 1/2 tsp of soy sauce, a dollop of vinegar, a few ounces of bok choy, and an ounce of mushrooms into the Trader Joe's miso ginger soup I usually eat while dieting, along with a few drops of hot oil. All in all, quite tasty and only 30 calories which compares well with my usual 160 calorie lunch.

I'll start making dinner 5:30 which is 4 and a half hours from now. Not too long to wait. Especially with the season opener of my favorite baseball team starting at 3:00 PM, which should distract me mightily, though if they stay on form they will lose this and most of the rest of their games for the next month before waking up and raising our hopes.

Do any of you here use these strange, squid-like shiratake noodles? Any favorite recipes to recommend if you do? I found they were best with bottled teriyaki sauce, but that sauce has too much sugar and oil for my fast day. I also found that they did produce some fairly nasty gas a few hours after I ate them, but if they keep the hunger monster at bay, I'm willing to make the trade off.
Also fasting today. Think that fasting on the same day I go to spinning is not such a good idea. At least I have to be more careful. Had 1 banana before going to spinning class at noon. Then I had planned to eat nothing until dinner. By 5 o'clock I was feeling dizzy and was very pale. Had a handful of raisins and that helped a bit. Think the spinning class must have depleted my blood blood glucose. Had my planned eggs and vegetables for dinner and am now really looking forward to breakfast in the morning.
I have fasted today. I'm not sure I am losing any weight but at least I'm not getting any fatter! Too many indulgences on non fast days at present.
Had my very tasty Thai Green Chicken Curry with a small amount of rice taking me up to 401 calories. I'm aiming to get to bed soonish so I don't eat any more. I've felt a bit rubbish today so I'm quite pleased that I didn't mess up the fast :-)
I'm in today! So far so good! Had a spicy lentil dal for lunch which was 220 calories. I'll have a frozen entrée for dinner for another 200 in about 2 hours.
Snowing this morning, warm and sunny this afternoon! So odd! I can't tell if I should have hot coffee or iced.
I really have to buy groceries today. It's a fast day - this is going to be tough. I'm going to a store which always has delicious samples (Whole Foods)... The ultimate test of my self control.

@Peebles - I have them usually one of my fasting days. I posted about them here. Hungry Girl has a lot of recipes for them.

I've decided that not having breakfast was not good. I got too hungry today. I will stick with splitting my 500 calories over breakfast and lunch. A high protein breakfast really gets me through the day!
Hello @Cherylhead I'm so, so sorry to hear your health care system has let you down after how well you have looked after yourself! I've been there too, but not around weight. Feeling anger is very important and natural - as it helps us re-group our feelings and empowers us to explain to others what is real.

I'm very glad you felt able to have a good rant on the forum, it's a safe place. Keep talking and we will keep supporting.

Go demand the apology from your Dr - and share with us :clover:
It's the least they owe you? Oh, makes me a cross patch too, for you.

Well, it's not long til midnight & the fast has gone well...despite major temptations!

Husband managed to not eat all his birthday cake yesterday....& has been tucking into it today, whereas I've not had so much as a sniff of it!

Had a meeting to go to tonight....once the business was over, a whole host of yummy food was brought out - smoked salmon in cream cheese to go on biscuits, tons of cheese, macaroons, individual homemade cakes & plates of choccy biscuits.......Me? I had a cup of tea.

Roll on tomorrow!!
