Hello friends. I am fasting today as usual. We are having people over for dinner so my fast may end at 6pm today. I will go easy on dinner - Greek meat balls in tomato sauce with mashed potato and salad. And not drink wine. I am making chocolate creme brûlée for dessert and I don't think I'll be able to pass it up. Just having my 2nd drink, a green tea, after hefting trugs of compost down the block to the patch where I am going to grow pumpkins: Queensland Blue and Butternut seeds now in the ground. Looking forward to catching up with fasters here today.
Hello everybody

I have been with you @Sallyo - just lots of water, green tea and black coffee. Looking forward to my evening meal of Fresh salmon, and some steamed greens.

Have a great night, I do like the sound of the Chocolate Crème Brulee Sally, enjoy!

Out for lunch in Carlton tomorrow with a group of friends, and plan to fast again Wednesday - will see how I go - Son's Wedding this coming Saturday - looking forward to it.

cheers everybody

Maggie
Good to know you are with me, @Maggiee. Hope your day is going well. I am a bit over cooking! Meat balls made;tomato sauce ready; desserts cooked and about to go into the back fridge; pumpkin cut up and now roasting in the oven for the pumpkin salad; Now to peel the potatoes and then clean up the chaos. One of my guests is dairy and gluten free so I have to make meat balls with out breadcrumbs for her: they leaked fat when they went into the oven - I guess that's what the breadcrumbs do, soak up the fat. I've bought some dairy free ice-cream for her. I drew the line at making dairy free ice-cream or creme brûlée . There will also be a green salad, made after I've tidied up the table and set it. Oh My goodness, all this talk of food may be too much on a fasting thread. I did have a boiled egg, lettuce and tuna salad at lunch time to tide me over. Only 2 hours until the guests arrive. Do other people get a bit stressed with dinner parties? I just have to stay focussed and do one job at a time, and trust that all will be well. And if not, they are my friends so they won't mind. Can't wait to see the wedding photos, Maggiee!
Gosh Sally. YES!! I do. Whether they be friends or family. My OH said years ago no more dinner parties - he couldn't stand the stress!!

You sound organised but I do understand what you mean. So much to do and think about - and then be the perfect hostess when if you are like me, you're ready for bed!!

Take a big deep breath @Sallyo - I guess fasting doesn't help.

Have a good evening. Take care.
Cheers
Maggie.
Good morning to everyone !

@Sallyo Talking about chocolate crème brûlée on a fast day You should be ashamed of yourself  Now I'll have wild thoughts about chocolate all day

It's still a bit dark over here, even if it's 08:30AM and I am sipping my first coffee of the day. It's instant coffee so it's with a splash of milk. The next one will be a "proper" one so will be all black.

The only baking today is my bread for the week, not the most difficult thing to resist on a fast day, even if I love bread, and tonight will be a pumpkin soup I am looking forward to (I love pumpkin with a passion)

Good luck to us all :clover:
Good night Sallyo and Maggie and good morning everyone who is rising.
I'm ready to go having stocked up the sparkling water this weekend  Dinner is poached egg with spinach and a strip of smoked salmon. Nice and easy. I do like egg on a fast day - I find it settles and satisfies my tummy at the end of the day.
Here comes a day of work ....... good luck fasters, lets do it :clover:
:like: :clover:
I'm in and aiming for 6pm too.
Lots of Xmas to wrap and post to keep me busy today so let's get to it.
Good luck folks \o/
Hello, I am fasting too. My Advent fast. It is nice to sit here and read your comments.
I have been 4 days at or above 60 kg, though I initially lost 2 kgs on this advent fast. Today is an other weird day for me. Our weekly Bible Study is now about 1,5 hours away. We decided to have high tea today. That means I cannot even have my tea and milk at 15:00, but have to wait for 16:00  .
We are going to a home of a widow, who puts out the most amazing salty and sweet goodies with her coffee and tea. I feel a bit like Sallyo. I don't think I will be able to resist those things. I will try and be sensible though. High tea, with scrambled eggs at 16:00, and then fancy tea spread at 19:00. I'll probably not go below the 60 mark even today  , 60 kg is 9,44 stones (ugh, THAT sounds an awful lot!!!) :-o .
Well, hope, all you others have a normal day!
2 coffees and one bergamot tea and I am freezing cold... That's what I don't like about fasting, I am cold !!! On the other hand, I love to have an excuse to have a bergamot tea. It's one of the treats I can have on a fast day. I only have some on those days, never on a usual day. A kind of motivation I suppose...
I'm in as usual on a Monday. I'm contemplating doing 2 fast days in a row this week as I am off to a conference for 3 days on Wednesday - have to see how I feel tomorrow morning!
So far so good today. I've been to aquajog as usual. I'm now on displacement activities as I should be writing our Christmas letter. Nice and sunny at the moment so I may have to have a quick garden inspection first.
I'm planning prawn curry with cauli rice for dinner later.
I'm in today as well. We are having salads tonight, with a bit of chicken breast and I just had my smoothie. I used a bit of unsweetened almond milk, a bit of high fiber hemp protein powder, some ice, some frozen pineapple (for sweetness) and a bit of peanut butter powder for flavor. I estimate it was about 230 calories, but it's really filling

I really think these protein shakes have been helping me kick my sugar habit. I'm down almost two pounds now in a week, heading back toward my low last year.
Without really knowing why, today is a tough one, with quite a lot of struggle. I am not motivated enough, I guess. It's not even because of some cravings, more because of the cold I feel inside and out and some boredom. It's a 700 calories day, which is not that bad knowing there will be 2 other fasts this week.
Really quite a good day, maybe because I was given the motivation on Saturday to keep going. Been needing a new jacket for a while but never found anything I liked - until looking on Saturday. Picked a sized smaller than I have been wearing, husband thought it looked good, but something sent me for a second opinion from the manageress of that department (I have known her for many years). She patted, poked and smoothed then said I think you should try one size smaller- She collected it, I tried it on and it was perfect - a super comfortable fit and two sizes below my old 'Normal size'. Motivation - I want to keep wearing it and not find it is suddenly too tight so a good fast day.
I'm in today, having my green tea just after noon here in the US Wild West! Riding those minor pangs...btw, I second the shame on you, Sallyo, for talking about chocolate creme brulee on a light day... wish I was coming to your yummy-sounding dinner party! Plus, I bet your weather is better; Seattle has been confirming its reputation as Rain Capital the last several days...rather depressing and exacerbates the coldness one tends to feel on light days....
Sorry everyone. It was wrong and I apologise unreservedly.
