Getting hungry now, no oxo, no boullion, I will blame those prawns I had at 2.30. Munching on half a raw carrot now.
Ooh it's always dangerous munching before 5 I always find

The day is nearly over. I'm soooo looking forward to my Sunday roast tomorrow!

Bean :starving:
I am in for today; I've got about 4 hours left till eat time! I have found that THE most helpful thing to me on fast days is: BROTH!!! Nice hot broth to sip on! On days when I have that broth, it's SO easy. If I don't have it, wow, is hard not to cave in and quit!

Tonight's meal will be a bag of veggies, and, um, maybe a turkey burger.

Hang in there all!
I agree about the broth @flamanette .what type of broth do you drink/make?
I was buying clear chicken broth from the Chinese takeaway 400 mls for $4. That would be 4x 100 ml drink for hubby and me. It's nourishing, comforting and salty and takes away that too empty feeling around 4-5 pm and freezes well. I decided though that this was too expensive. I bought 5 chicken bones ( raw carcus) from RedLea chicken shop, took then home and baked them then added salt andwater, simmered on the stove for 90 minutes ,,cool, strain into little containers. For the same $4 I made 2 litres. If you get the water to bones just right the bone broth wobbles and the gelatinous goodness is evident. Now that's a happy day!

p.s. its very nutritious too- just Google ' home made bone broth Wellness Mama'
And only 40 calories a cup but I usually only need half a cup at a time- 20 calories!!

I buy something called "better than boullion", have been using it for several years now to flavor rice for the family. It comes in a jar, and is like a paste; I buy the organic versions of beef, chicken, and veggie. My family loves it in the rice, I love it as a hot broth. It's rather pricey at $5 a jar, but it does last a long time when I rotate using the flavors.

Perhaps I will look into making homemade broth some time in the future, thanks for the info.
