I am supposed to be doing 2:1, but I was too unhappy with the number on the scales and with the amount of wine I drank last night. Plus, I'm meant to do a long run tomorrow, so I'd rather fast today.

Good luck, Saturday fasters!
Count me in when I wake up tomorrow morning.

I've been away on a week long stressful business meeting where I ATE and ate and ate! I need to correct this and stop doing this to myself!
I think yes for me too. It will be my third fast of the week. I need something to counter all of the booze I have drunk saying goodbye to people this week before I travel, and all of the chocolate I have eaten too!

Good luck to all Saturday fasters :like:
Yes I'm in today too. In fact it's my first ever Saturday fast (never thought I'd see the day!) and the first day of my new "Eat every other day" regime! I felt I needed a boost, especially as I can't exercise or, indeed, do much of anything...except read (this forum and "The Blimin Long Luminaries"....having said thatI am enjoying I though! )

So, speeded up metabolism here I come!!

By the way, when do you leave for California @Rawkaren.? Is it tomorrow? All the very best to you

Happy fasting today everyone...and no cheating cos I'm watching!

Bean
 Don't want you all to feel lonely so just letting you know I'm with you today but only for a cautious 16:8 that's the best I can do for now but every little helps

:clover: Good luck with the new regime @nursebean :clover:

 Last day + night for you @rawkaren I'm sure it will be an emotional 24hrs for you + we'll all follow on next week when you're settled in OK?
So impressed with your signature @Sue.Q 50lbs in 8 months?! That is just so impressive. Well done indeed

Bean
Count me in, first week on diet, second fast day! The last one made me feel very rough but i need this after a few too many biscuits on my non fast days this week! X
And me. It's another drizzly Saturday morning, and there's a whole lot of reading to catch up with ...
First ever fast, here I am! I'm ready for you!

I was going to start tomorrow, but after yesterday (eating pick n' mix in the cinema, followed by getting sugar-high shakes in Lidl  with large amounts of cottage pie for dinner courtesy of boyfriend), I was indifferent to breakfast this morning and thought "Well, in for a penny, in for a pound."

So here I am, just back from OH's house, drinking a mug of veg stock with a drop of green Tabasco sauce (no idea why that struck me as a good idea, but it's very tasty!), hoping to hold out until 2pm, whereupon I'll make myself a nice 2-egg omelette with an ounce of cheddar and some frozen green veg. Going to reserve the veg cooking liquid and turn that into a hot drink for later, then a bowl of apple and leek soup for dinner (as seen here http://www.lavenderandlovage.com/2013/0 ... -diet.html).

Think I've got some spare for an apple and a cup of coffee at some point in the day too... my quarter TDEE is something like 640 (knew that being tall would come in useful for something other than getting stuff off shelves someday!)

Good luck to everyone else dancing with the hunger dragon today!
Hope you're getting stuck into The Luminaries @Silverdarling ...shouldn't take you long (tee here  )

Well done @Klipspringer - good luck with the rest of your fast day...just keep away from anything sweet (apart from you OH of course  )

Bean
Me too! In my second week of EODing or ADFing. Have no idea if it will speed weight loss or not. I quite like it though because I don't give calories a thought on eating days, which is nice!
Well this fasting thing's an odd sensation! Nowhere near as tempted by food nor bothered about the feeling of hunger as I thought I would be... it definitely moves in waves. I've just had my omelette and am supping some coffee to warm me up (my house is a bit of a fridge), so we'll see how that affects it. Going to attempt to get some work done until dinner-- feeling pretty alert but not sure whether I'll be great at concentrating.

Hope everyone else's is going smoothly!
Am fasting today too, haven't eaten any thing yet and hope to hold out till dinner time... @klipspringer I hope your first ever fast day is going well! :)
Ooh yes I haven't eaten anything yet and am now really looking forward to my chicken & vegetable chow mein (M&S) with my own additional veg...sprouts, broccoli, maybe broad beans or peas (I know how to live) and maybe, just maybe, I'll finish it all off with some Greek yoghurt and honey. Ooh my mouth's watering already :-)

Bean
Crazy- I'm hungry but it's almost got to the "so what?" stage... this is kinda liberating :victory:

Also, discovery of the day: the water squeezed out of thawed spinach made into a hot drink with just a pinch of a beef stock cube is very satisfying.
