Who's joining me today?
After the successful reckoning I have decided to stick with 4:3 for another month, even though it's getting a wee bit tedious.
What I may do though is eat different things for tea. It's been poached eggs on toast since I started, so maybe time for a wee change.
Hope everyone joining today's fast has a good one.
Chook- love the small of fresh outside dried bed. It gets dried to a crisp here with the heat and no wind . Yet another wee pleasure I miss *sigh*
Good luck to all fasters!
I thought I would join in on this, as I too am fasting today. However this is my first day on this and I have given myself the challenge of following this for the whole of September with 2/3 fasting days a week depending on how I find it this week.
I was wondering if anybody could give me real experiences to go by, as I have read the book and I am wondering how you find it.
I am 5'6 female, I am relatively slim but my job requires sitting on my bum all day. I eat well, no junk, but I eat a lot. I've crept from 140lb to 147 when I weighed myself yesterday, and I allays get back to 140lb, but it's a chore, depressing, and never that long lasting, so I am looking for a sustainable way to drop a stone and keep it off. I am wondering if this is truly achievable if I follow this sensibly??
I though a great way to start is on the 1st Sept, with a yoga session, short 3 mile jog, and then prepare for work this evening where I can't be tempted:)
Thanks
Sophie
Welcome Sofie and Good Luck to you well just stick to 500 calories drink plenty water keep yourself occupied, for me I save all my calories for evening meal because once I actually started to eat lunch/snack I became more hungry, so do eve meal of 2 courses by way of a reward for going the 24 hrs, I also walk on each fastday I'm doing 4:3 simply because of the amount of weight I need to lose, my BMI was over 44 at the start, I've now dropped it down a group lost 35 lbs and also dropped down 3 sizes in clothing all in 20 weeks Amazing that's the only way to describe this WOL and for me so easy to do. Sue
Sue, morning my darling. Have a good one!
Welcome Sophie! I also find it is easier for me to save my 500 calories for one evening meal. We almost always have an omelette loaded up with veggies. Lots of water and busy-ness helps. The biggest challenge for me has been combining fasting with social obligations, but I found that it is easier and can create a bit of accountability by just being up front with people. The actual physical hunger has this really funny way of disappearing without you noticing it. Hard to explain but I suspect you'll see what I mean after a fast or two.
Hope you have a refreshing fast everyone!
I am joining the fasters today. Feel quite cold though which I haven't for a while as we have actually had a summer with some warmth.
Hi Sophie - I've been doing 4:3 for nearly a year but I had quite a bit to lose. Its worked really well for me and has been much easier to sustain than low carb which I used successfully a few years ago but couldn't maintain long term. However how well I will maintain remains to be seen!
I feel better generally on this way of eating though - its not just a way of losing weight. Seems to have trained me to eat less too as I tended to overeat and used to comfort eat a bit.
I found saving the calories for one main meal seems to work the best for me too - got even hungrier with several tiny meals somehow.
Give it a go and let us know how you get on.
the 'fasting today' thread on a Sunday is always very short, but it's my favorite fast of the week. I love being able to eat funny things at funny times - whenever I get hungry - and not have to have my lunch at lunch break or my breakfast before rushing out the door in the morning to work.
I've been doing 4:3 for a week now and plan to keep it up for another 2 weeks till OH comes back from a work trip. And no booze at all for these 3 weeks either. I needed something to give me a kick after two summer holidays with lots of delicious food. So far so good - on my last weigh in I was officially 'normal', with a BMI of 24.98, so I hope tomorrow's weigh in confirms and strengthens that!
Good luck to everyone else on the thread!
