Well I'm here for my Thursday fast.
Thinking of you @Sallyo in hospital with your broken wrist. I guess your not fasting as that hospital food is sooooo delicious!!! Get better quick xxx
Hi Wineoclock! I'm in for a fast today, most likely my last one for a month as not sure whether fasting will fit in with our caravanning holiday around Tassie. We'll see. :)

Good luck to fellow fasters! :) :clover:

@Sallyo, I hadn't picked up that you had broken yoir wrist. What a (literal) pain!! Wishing you a speedy recovery and minimal time in hospital. :clover:  :clover:
Oh no, @Sallyo, hope it's a speedy healing and recovery. :rose:

I'm in for my usual Thursday fast. I need to focus and make the most of it. I have been a bit half-hearted on my regular days and I'm not losing any fat, not gaining either. But I'm not at a weight I could consider maintaining on yet so it's time for taking more thought about what's going into my mouth all the time!. :)

And, good morning @Wineoclock

Happy, happy fasting all!
I'm in. So far I'm doing a bit better this week with more mindful eating, but not as clean as I'd like to be.
Going to try to keep busy with HIIT at Lunch and a run home (if it doesn't pour).

Good Luck all
@wineoclock thank you! I'm in.
@Sallyo I am so sorry to hear you are in hospital with a broken wrist  I hope you are pain free and get some needed rest. Thinking of you. :victory:
@Sassy1 have a lovely holiday my dear, thanks for your messages, I'll catch up with you soon. :victory: :clover: :like:
Just stopped the holiday preparation to have my first black coffee for the day. :) Fine, warm and (very) blowy here; cool change expected later...

I saw "That sugar film" yesterday, which reinforced everything I have learnt from this forum and hopefully will help provide incentive to remove (well, further reduce!) my sugar intake. I plan to say more about the film in a new thread.

Keep strong everyone! :)
@Sassy1 as someone who gave up sugar many decades ago I too am interested to watch and learn. Pack well my dear :clover:
Thanks Liz @Lizbean!

I will have some access to the internet while away, when I make time (!), so hope to keep in touch. Do let me know how everything is going. :)
I'm in today. After a huge steak dinner last night, I really need it!

Sorry to hear about your wrist, @Sallyo. Take care.
I'm in too, big wet fish up the side of the head! In fact I'm even thinking I'll do a 500 cal fast, gasp  @wineoclock I'm sure you are right that @Sallyo will be feasting on that white carb laden, 1960s unhealthy food in the hospital arrggh get better soon...at least it!s not a leg, u can keep walking. I'm touching wood here cos yesterday I tripped over dogs and fell flat onto my back on concrete, via a metal gate in the back!! Very sore but just had a massage and can now turn my head. Lucky I didn't hit my head, tho maybe that would have knocked some sense into me  Today I went back to my old fasting ways...made vegie soup, all I had were carrots, onion, threw in some cumin and fresh thyme...70 cals a serve. I reckon I could eat 3 bowls if I wanted, mini protein bar, some fresh raspberries and coffee wth milk and be in at under 500...and not feel hungry. I've been self sabotaging of late and need to get back into the zone. Good luck all.
I'm in. I ate to TDEE Tuesday and Wednesday but am feeling bloated today.

Question for the experienced fasters: I am 800g (1.7lb) heavier today than I was Tuesday morning after my Monday fast. Is that amount of increase usual?

@Sallyo. My husband broke his arm and wrist on Australia Day (26th January) and ended up with a plate and 5 screws being surgically inserted . I hope that your break is much cleaner and your recovery swift and problem free.

Happy Thursday people
How is everyone going? I've got dinner cooked, a concoction of tomatoes, cannellini beans, eggplant and spinach with chilli. Probably have a green salad to freshen it up.
I've got a cup of tea and having a bit of relax after a busy running around day.
I am on third black coffee - decaf this time, tho I do have my coffee half strength. I will have salmon and veggies for dinner - it's a matter of finishing what veggies are left in the fridge. No point leaving them for our remaining son at home, he won't cook them on his own! He will live on packaged meals and rubbish in our absence...

@cyclonet, that sort of weight gain is possible after a fast. My understanding is that fasting uses up glycogen stores, which have a lot of water stored as well, so weight should drop quite a bit. When you resume eating carbs, the glycogen and water comes back. But there are many other factors that influence your weight on a particular day - how hydrated you are, TOTM, types of food you have eaten, waste you have not yet expelled (!), etc. In theory you would lose about 1500 cals of fat after one fast day of 500 cals if your TDEE is 2000 - that equates to about 170g of fat lost. That loss can easily be hidden by the other factors than influence your weight. It's best not to focus on day to day changes in weight, but what the trend is doing. There are apps to calculate trend or you can just do it yourself (eg take the average over a 7-day period). Good luck! :clover:
I had no inkling about your wrist break@Sallyo! I wish you better with quick healing and hope that you can get home soon and have minimal pain. It must have given you a shock. Remember you are basically healthy.
I'm fasting today trying to get control and back on track. Something threw me off purpose this week and I'm not happy in spite of knowing this WOE is forgiving and does repairs!
Good luck to all fasters. :clover:
Bonjour. I'm here for fasting day 2. Monday was my first day and I survived although I was very hungry at times. On Tuesday and Wednesday I had problems in trying to eat the full 2000 calories and only managed 1350 and 1500 respectively. How important is it to eat 2000 calories on your non-fasting days? I had to boost my intake to those numbers by eating a load of almonds on the Tuesday and a big bowl of chocolate ice cream and a banana yesterday. I'm counting calories using MFP and weighing food so I think it's reasonably accurate.
Today's menu is boiled egg and some blackberries for breakfast and scallops with a big salad tonight.
