Thanks @Golarne. May I ask what happened re your weight regain - I had a quick look at some of your posts and you mentioned something about eating above TDEE - regularly?? I have had to 5:2 all thru maintenance as I tend to overeat on my relatively frequent times away from home - and at home too, for that matter! I weigh daily, I seem to need that constant vigilance. Best wishes for shifting the gain! :)

@Margotsylvia, maintenance has certainly been more challenging than losing. My recollection was that losing weight was fairly easy for me, just following basic 5:2, despite some (quite a few!) days of overeating on non-fast days. Since reaching an arbitrary goal, however, things have been different. But it does still seem that any overeating can be negated by a fast or 2 or 3.
Hi all,
I'm in today. It is my 2nd fast on the ADF schedule. Last was my 1st week on 5:2 but I have a lot to lose so giving ADF a try for a month.
So far just had water (with lemon juice) and Miso soup (for the 1st time) - it is certainly an acquired taste ;-)
Coming up to 1pm here in the UK. look forward to an early dinner which will be pork belly and veg (I've been told)
Cheers
W.
@Sassy1, hope your day ended on a higher note than the start of it! :clover:
I'm in for Fast #3. I'm a newbie! Did my boot camp workout this morning and had my post workout almond milk/egg white protein shake. That has to hold me most of the day and I'm feeling hungry already! :curse: I'm hoping the black coffee I'm drinking now will tame the beast!

Planning a pork chop and green beans for dinner.......but man, that's a long time away!

On with it!

Good luck everyone!
Thanks @chinchin, the day did end better than the start! :) Family harmony is restored, OH was great re accident and our mechanic is fixing the car, the warm muggy day turned to still needed rain, younger son will be around for the weekend, and I did manage a successful fast, albeit with a little higher cals than normal. :D Hope your day was ok! :)
Wibbles thanks for reminding me about miso. You can get sachets for single portions = good for travel. I chop a spring onion into it at last minute to add bit of freshness. You might try Bovril or Marmite for an alternative salty beverage or even a stock cube made into a drink. Otherwise I survive on milkless teas (licquorice is nice treat!) and some fizzy water. Bit of soup maybe late afternoon. It will be chicken cassarole with vegs but no carbs for main meal and some snack at bedtime.

Now for the ironing that I save for 5:2 days :)
I'm here today! I'm hoping my fast goes as well as it did on Monday! Have a good day everyone!
Was/am in today.. of course already made it through most of the day. It really has been working for me, just sipping liquids during the day and having a slightly more generous early dinner.. really don't feel like I'm fasting at all and I really love planning the meals. I made a chicken tortilla soup (without the tortilla chips) tonight which went down a treat. Really loving having soup on fast days right now.. probably the sun going down at 4:30 pm and the chilly nights!

As usual I struggle with the feed days a bit more. I'll use tomorrow's weigh in to see if I need to get even stricter on feed days...

My husband and I are fasting today. We are doing alternate day fasting and started Tuesday so this is our second time fasting. It's noon here in Texas. I'm starting to get hungry. I know I'm a nighttime snacker so for right now I'm doing a 300cal sandwich around 1pm and then some seeds and berries in the evening.
Welcome YoHippyChick :) It's great that you and your husband are fasting together - and well done for embarking on an ADF journey, not many of us like to fast at weekends! Do let us know how you get on. How long have you been doing this? I hope the bread in the sandwich doesn't make you extra hungry, I know it would me!
Welcome@Yohippychicknd OH! & @lori
Glad day turned out ok @Sassy1
Well done all you stoical slimmers! I was angelically fasting til DD arrived with sarnies..delicious chicken and stuffing, but very filling..why didn't i stop when my tum told me to? No, kept munching til every crumb had gone..If i dont eat much this evening i guess its a lowish cal day x damage limitation
Yes @Sassy1. I am in Melbourne but somehow I have missed any announcement about gatherings of Melbournians. Last year I was overseas(Japan) and I was envious when I saw that some were getting together for coffee in Melbourne but haven't noticed any this year. So please count me in and let me know to join you and others for any social occasions.
Another easy, busy fast day for me. Keeping busy is definitely the key. If I'm working at something I don't even notice the time passing.
Just finished dinner; a little running around today but kept to my light day successfully. Signing off!
