It's a lovely summer morning here in London and I'm in for todays fast. Lots of tea and fizzy water to keep me going. Happy fasting everyone.
3rd fast for me today. Mondays fast was harder than my first one. Felt hungry by 11 am!! However stuck to it. Very pleased I did as scales say I have lost 10 lbs this week!!! Very excited. So onwards I go. Having a family gathering at lunchtime with a BBQ . Luckily people are used to seeing me eat very little - so I'll continue the fast. My throat is a bit sore as well - hopefully it doesnt mean Im fighting a cold. Good luck everyone.
I'm here today for second fast this week. Lots to do to keep me occupied as having visitors tomorrow, but will resist starting the cooking as that gives me an excuse to "taste"!
Happy fasting one and all.

I'm fasting though not sure if I should or how long for as I'm not well yet. Just feels like it might help.
Good luck everyone :0)
I am here again also. A wee bit disheartened to be honest as have not shifted a single lb in month of July ... in fact am plus one. I did twice weekly fasts but had one week off. I know I am probably not being exact enough with calorie counting but was happy to take the slow road as long as moving in right direction. I wonder if the hot weather is a factor? Perhaps we burn less calories ?? Oh any excuse! :)
Big windy, rainy cold day here in Tasmania. We lost power for a few hours and so did half the state. Some schools closed, but not mine. It seems to have calmed down now. I got through the day without any problems and now it's bed time and I look forward to breakfast in the morning. I do like breakfast. I have to make some green morning tea to take to work for a Gonski morning tea. I just worked out I could take crackers with a pesto topping. What do you think? (Gonski is the name of an Australian education reform we are fighting for.)
@Sallyo,

No fun losing power! Hope it was brief enough you didn't lose any food in the fridge. We have been having lightning storms and small tornados here, with a house bursting into flame in a town down the road and a tree falling on a cop car about a mile from our house, but have been very lucky with the outages (and fires, and trees, for that matter.) I don't stress about power outages too much in the summer, but when it is below zero (F!) and the power goes out, I become impossible. We have no back up heat source and putting one in is problematic. With radiator heat freezing pipes means replacing all the flooring when the pipes freeze. So far, that hasn't happened. Our next home won't have radiators!

Does your school year in Australia run during the winter with summer off as ours does?

I am doing fine with my fast today. I have been off caffeine for a few years, as it was raising my blood pressure too much, but my BP has dropped so much with the weight loss, I had a cup of half-caf yesterday which felt like mainlining cocaine. I dug out the silver polish cleaned a big pile of earings and took a whack at getting the lime scale off the bathroom sink. Amazing energy!

I did a quarter caf coffee this morning and am feeling quite perky, too. I used to suck down 4 or 5 cups a day without noticing anything. Funny how intense real coffee is if you haven't been drinking it.
Still going strong, another hour and I will have my one meal of the day!
On the outage front, happens here being so rural which is why I have a wood burner to heat the lounge and a wood burning Esse to heat the kitchen and cook on. My summer cooker is LPG and my hot water is via solar tubes! Needs a bit of power for the pump but we have a small generator to take care of that!
Yes I'm in today didn't pledge earlier because
like @Azurebluewasn't sure if I would make it but yes
number 3 of the week done albeit a dodgy Tuesday fast. :clover: :like: :heart:
@peebles. We only lost power for the afternoon really. It was just getting dark when the lights came back on. We heat with a wood heater so we were never in danger of getting cold, and gas stove means we could cook. It was only lights and tv and internet we would have missed. But it was all ok. The lights came back! I think power outages in other parts of the world are much worse.
