Morning everyone! Wet and miserable here in Melbourne.

I am sure I will be joined in a fast by lots of you today. I am gradually shedding the holiday gain, and am trying 4:3 as we are also eating out on Sunday for our sons' birthdays - having seen the menu, I know I will be indulging!

Best wishes for a successful fast. :)
Good morning @Sassy1, it is a typical Melbourne winter's morning. I hope, probably uselessly, that the sun will come out again today. This is my second fast day this week, going to make the most of it.
Happy fasting to all. :)
Good morning Sassy1 and Chinchin. Gorgeous sunny morning here in Devonport. Sun just striking bright through the window at work. I've been to yoga - 6.30 class and feel amazing. So alive and strong! Black coffee now and into the day. Have a good one everyone. May the Fast be with us.
Morning all - coming to you from sunny Brisbane, and after a cold morning it's warming up nicely!

I'm going to try for my second fast this week, though with all the moving of boxes and furniture I've been doing these last few days, I'm not going to be too strict on the calories today if I feel I need a little more. I've been keeping a very rough track of the energy expenditure involved in scooting boxes (mostly books so far) up and down stairs and onto and off of the back of the ute...and it really starts adding up! Hopefully sometime soon all of that work will start being reflected in my weight and/or measurements...maybe :?:

Keep up the great work one and all, and may the fast be with you!
Morning. My first official fast of the week, after having a stomach bug earlier in the week (and figured if you've spent a day eating veggie soup that's probably pretty close to a fast anyway!)
I am sitting here with my first black coffee for the day and it is lovely to read about the others who are fasting too. :)

Very envious of those with blue skies, but this is Melbourne after all, and I have just returned from 7 weeks of blue skies most days, so can't complain. But it would be nice to see the sun, as chinchin hopes.

Katamac, I am sure your stomach bug day would count as a fast day, tho not a very pleasant one!

Hope the move goes smoothly PeonyBlue - you need to keep your strength up doing all that hard yakka, so do enjoy a bit more food if you feel the need.

Yoga - what a great way to start the day, Sallyo. It certainly sets you up for a good day to follow.

Back to the cleaning after the coffee - first proper clean the house has had in 8 weeks, so it is taking a while. :(

Catch you later! :D
Morning all - it is a beautiful summer morning here in London, blue sky! I'm fasting today, lots of tea, sparkling water and a feta salad this evening, home grown toms, cucumber and raspberries ........ plus an hours stroll at lunchtime, down to the Thames.

Buddy @spanner are you coming out to play?

Happy fastday everyone :like:
Blue skies in Johannesburg, South Africa too - although it is a bit chilly. Cant complain as it is winter after all! I am a RETURNING "Newbie" having fallen off the wagon very seriously and have been scrabbling to get back on to it for some time now. Needless to say, I have gained weight again. Have decided that today is the BEGINNING of better habits and therefore will be my first fast for probably three months or so. Am going to be gentle on myself today and have mainly liquids - coffee, cuppasoup and a hardboiled egg - until my main meal later on. Please wish me luck ... if I can just get ONE successful fast under my belt, then more chance of staying on the old wagon!
I'm in too and almost finished, just scoffed a big bowl of veg, full as. Beautiful winter day here in Sydney as usual, but nights chilly. Good luck all. My fasts have finally got easier, for some reason.
Hi, I'm fasting today too.
I'm busy writing a huge shopping list and planning a menu for visitors, and have just realised that it doesn't bother me at all, whereas when I first started I'd have found this difficult on a fast day. Particularly dessert planning. It helps alot that the weather is lovely here, but the main reason is because I can have it tomorrow, if I want!
Just about done for the day. It was easy. I must own up to having a small square of chocolate cake at Morning tea. It was someone's 50th birthday and I couldn't pass it up. Still I was good the rest of the day. Dinner was meat balls in tomato sauce with a green salad, (tomato sauce from the freezer from my own last summer's tomatoes) and lettuce from the garden. I was feeling really envious of @lizbeanL's home grown salad of tomato, cucumber and raspberries - summer feels a long way away, so I had to remind myself that we can do that too, one day. Good Luck @maryannemcconnell Hang in there, girl! You can do it. Moment by moment, cup of tea after cup of tea, before you know it, it's dinner time and you're allowed to eat something substantial. And one successful fast day leads to another and before you know it, you've done a month, two months, a year..... and you're wearing smaller pants. It works!
Greetings all... from sunny Dublin tho expect change to weather tomorrow. I had car to take for its MOT/NCT test today so had a breakfast as on a normal day. No time for coffee or lunch so now will make it part of a fast day and not have to substitute another day. Lots of beans from garden ... I think I could make a dinner out of them alone with lot of garlic. Car passed its test :) but lost a filling eating breakfast (granola over fruit/greek yogurt) :( Someone mentioned Michael Moseley being on radio interview so I had a read up on other recent journalistic stuff. He is still on same message two years on.
I'm in today, I've had problems completing my second fast of the week for various reasons, so hoping to see this through (I never seem to have any problems with the first one).

There's a meeting going on in the next office which might have some leftover fresh fruit coming out - I usually don't eat anything until evening, but may have a few berries today.

Might go for a run tonight if I feel up to it, it's a bit warm but not too bad.

Good luck @maryannemcconnell, keep busy, keep the liquids up and you'll get there :clover: :like:
Hello everyone.

Today is going to be my 2nd fast day of the week. I was striving for the alternate day fast but that was too hard at first. In Oregon today, the weather will be fine so when I feel hungry, I will take a quick walk.

Take care.
I am in today! Looking forward to a good fast, I've just been feeling so bloated lately that I think a fast is exactly what my body needs. Off to the beach this weekend, so that is always a good motivator to stay away from the snacks. I'm going to stick with iced teas and coffees today, and then some sort of salad for dinner with shrimp.
Good luck to everyone!
