Greetings all fasters today!
I haven't posted in a while because:
1. I tend not to use the forums when things are going well
2. I've been doing a bit of a windows approach, so I haven't really done 2 fast days lately, I more do 4-5 lower cal window fasts with weekends done to TDEE
But today my in-laws are coming and they told me they have started fasting and will be today, so in a show of solidarity I will do a "normal" 500 cal fast day.
I'm 11 months into fasting and I'm around 2kg away from my goal (depending on the day's weigh in), I've had ups and downs, but seem to be in a good place now, so gonna keep on trucking.
Happy fasting!
Hello @nznicole, I am joining you and your in-laws. I love it when other members of your family take it up. My sister is doing 5:2 now and she has lost quite a bit of weight. I am already feeling hungry so that's not good. It's minestrone soup for dinner and a black coffee now.
Hi Nicole and Sally
I am intending to join you today. :) As some know, I am trying to maintain by following the "don't go hungry" diet approach, so ideally no fast days as such, though if I am not hungry, I don't eat until I am, which can end up being quite a long period without food.

That is what I hope will happen today, because yesterday I ate when not hungry and very late at night as well. So a fast day seems appropriate. :)

But in general I am trying to not see fasting as a solution to (an excuse for??!) overindulging - not overindulging has to be the solution!!

Best wishes and good luck to all fellow fasters! :clover:

Btw, no chance of any family members joining me in fasting. My sister manages her weight very well just by not overindulging, and my OH and sons are all slim. My parents are too old to start. I have suggested to OH that there could be health benefits in fasting a day a week, and to help keep his middle in trim, but he would rather exercise, and that works for him.
Howdy, Im in. OH fasts with me but got confused and fasted yesterday (he forgot I wasnt).
Bit weary after wayward son forgot to tell me he was staying somewhere else last night resulting in a loss of sleep with me chasing him at 2.00 am to check he was still alive!! Will drink extra coffee today for sure.
I know just how you feel @Wineoclock re sons... I try not to be like my mum who worries and panics too easily (eg if I take 5 mins longer than normal on the morning walk I do when I stay with her, she thinks I have been mugged..........) but I do have to try to make contact (after some hours) with sons when they are not where I think they should be.

I am on my first black coffee for the day, and though at one level I am enjoying the empty tummy feeling of hunger, I also really want to eat!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok. :)
Joining in on the fastivities today! good luck to everyone (visiting families included)
I'm in today and hoping I can continue the good work from my 19 hr fast on Tuesday .... Never thought I'd be able to do that.
Just green tea and coffee until 7pm when I'll have a protein packed green smoothie ..... Well that's the plan
Happy fasting everyone
Count me in too  Good luck everybody.
Yes I am fasting today, I wish I could enjoy it like other members do! I try not to clock watch, and keep busy, but until around 7pm when I have dinner I am like a bear with a sore head! Anyway, I can feel it working and I have my "fatty" picture of me for motivation. Happy fasting everyone! X
I'm in today. After two tricky days (post long weekend sugar indulgence) I feel a lot better today. Tuesday's fast was hard. I fast for 24 hrs. I just drink water and have one low or no carb meal at 8pm. Monday I was hungry by 2pm! It went after a big glass of water, returned at the usual time of 4./30-5. Again a glass of water sorted that and aI ate at 8. However unlike usual I didn't feel saturated by my steak and no dressing salad. So I had a small semi skimmed cappuccino. Took me over by 40 cals but I lost the 3lbs gained over the weekend with 1 fast day and two low cal days.

Yesterday I ate 1500 cals, My TDEE is 1950 but I never go over 1500, generally it's 11/1200. But I was still struggling. No sugar though, all goid food choices and I made a 500 cal meal with fruit after for dinner just so I didn't over eat and feel too full. Today aI feel great, back to normal so guess all that sugar that was playing hell inside me has gone lol.

My sister fasts but she's a lot less strict than me, she is also on holiday this week. She has a lot less weight to loose to so she can afford the swings and roundabouts. I can't.

I'm having steak and salad again tonight! I always eat out Tuesday and Wednesday but keep to my 500 cals. No cappuccino tonight! Lol.

Happy fasting everyone.
Good morning fasters. I'm new to this site. I found it last night. I am embarking on a 36 hour fast (with some calories from drinks) with the intention of doing it twice per week. ….I did some googling and came across this site. I'm wondering if you all do your 2 fast days consecutively. I should read up on it, I've never heard of this book.d I wanted to jump in here as I'm starting today. I plan to make my second fasting day on Monday.

I look forward to being here among the fasters.
I'm in for a fast today too. Although, I will allow up to 1,000 calories since I did a heavy duty boot camp session this morning. Hoping I can keep the hunger monster at bay today.

Good luck all! :clover:
Welcome @ElizaC! :)

Could I suggest you read through the Fasting library for LOTS of information about this way of eating. I think most people do not do consecutive fasts. Monday and Thursday are probably the two most popular days, but a number of people do 4:3 Mon, Wed, Fri fasts. Most people eat around 500 cals on a fast day, and leave eating until as late in the day as they can manage. And quite a number use the eating windows approach, where they fast for at least 16 hours every day.

Do take lots of measurements so you can mark your progress, and don't put too much weight(!!) on what the scales say.

And please tell us more about yourself in the "Introduce yourself" topic - start your own thread. :)

Best wishes and good luck! :clover:
I'm in again today. Finding it a bit hard this day/week (TOTM). Feeling tired mentally and physically today but determined to battle through. Liquid only until teatime then some scrummy homemade veg soup out the freezer.
Good luck to everybody
 Thank you Sassy for your reply and the scale/measuring advice. I agree…I need to measure today. I will also check out the library.
Good so far today. I'm at almost 17 hours now. …about 1/2 way through with just some half and half in my coffee this morning.

Have a good day all.
