Hello St Patrick's Day fasters! I'm doing it today, reluctantly, as I missed the Monday fast. I don't like that but I did enjoy myself yesterday. @Wineoclock, your Monday non-fasting lunch at the Museum of Contemporary Art, overlooking the ferries in Sydney Harbour, sounded a lot better than mine, at Burgers Got Soul. It was a good burger but not exactly 'gourmet'. I am struggling to feel positive about fasting today. Perhaps I'll buy some nice fish in Devonport and have that with salad. I still have tomatoes and zucchini from the garden. Off to yoga, then to work to figure out my classes for tomorrow and have a hair cut. So that should all keep me out of trouble at least until the afternoon.
I swapped Monday to Tuesday this week. I felt very over full last night and thought fasting would be easier, however my stomach thinks otherwise and seems confused with the change. Oh well it will just have to do with coffee, tea and water until this evening.
@Sallyo are you joining me today?
Happy fasting
hahaha @Sallyo Just tagged you in my fasting thread.
Merging needed!!
Oh yes, I'm here, @Wineoclock! Beat you by 2 minutes.
How are you going, @Wineoclock? I have had a cup of soup, from a packet. It's not the kind of food I normally eat but I thought I'd try it out. I am a bit sick of miso soup - from a sachet. This was a chicken and corn, in a South American style, soup and was 23 calories, according to the packet. I am feeling a bit head achey. My day hasn't gone according to how I thought it would when I wrote this morning. Didn't make it to yoga, did no walking and I've got some chicken thigh, skinless, for dinner. OH is going to light the fire as it's cold here. Early dinner, I think.
Hi @Sallyo, I'm doing ok thanks. I've been at work all day with no food so that helps
Just dropped the car to the smash repairs after my bingle with my front fence a few weeks ago. Luckily son got a new car last week and his old one (my very old one) is still here so I have that to drive. Then we have to sell it.
Unfortunately I just checked my work emails and I have to pop back down there and sort something out, well at least it will fill in the rest of the afternoon. I think it's chicken stirfry tonight. I hope the rest of the day goes better for you Sallyo, just remember we can eat tomorrow - nom nom !!
I'm here today too, first of my 4:3. Wishing all a good day, with positive turn-around where needed! Had a terribly tense day yesterday with loads of exam candidates, piano, why do some people sail so close to the wind? too busy in life to be more prepared?!! So my eating last night was plain daft letting it all go and uncontrolled. Weekend was great, Mother's Day, family here, great wine and food.....So here's another day, a good one in another way! :like:
Hello Katharina! The good thing about fasting on a Tuesday is that you are here too. Were these exam candidates your students? That would be stressful, but it's them, not you, who is being examined so they are the ones who should be stressed! I know it doesn't work like that! I am so excited to tell you that I put down a deposit on an electric piano yesterday. My old piano is going to a friend; it is in need of a lot of work and my cousin who is a music teacher, suggested I go digital. I seem to remember writing to you about this! So I hope I'm not saying it all again. It is a Yamaha piano and it sounded great, felt great and it has all kinds of fancy features - like you can make it sound like a harpsichord or an organ. I hope the swap over can happen this week. I have to organise the transport of both pianos. I can't wait to start practising! I have 'complete Beethoven piano sonatas' in the car at the moment and I keep imagining that I will be able to play bits of them! Have a good fast. I am on the down hill run now and about to start concocting a meal.
Good fasting Terrific Tuesday People ! X and a happy Saint Patrick's Day x
Not fasting again are you Candy?!
Just popping in myself to offer words of encouragement to those tremendous Tuesday fasters. Don't forget your water and keep yourselves busy. That way, time will just fly by!
Have a good one
Bean xxxx
@Sallyo how exciting, a new piano. We got a digital one many years ago, our old pianola needed many thousands of dollars to get it back I tune so we gave it away. The beauty if the digital is that it's our daughter who plays and as she is about to move out of hope she can easily take it with her. Enjoy.
hello all, Im in today. Not been around alot lately as had my knee op and stuck at home for a few weeks made fasting hard but im back and determined.
I'm in today as I failed dismally on my fast yesterday :frown: determined to stick with it today
Hi@Sallyo! Good that you're also on the same day. Hope it's going, or has gone? well for you and OH. We are also feeling the cold here, although Spring is well in evidence here.. There's a weak sun shining at the moment. It's lunch time and I have been to the gym, taught, and am sipping a bouillon drink. It's Italian meatballs and green veges tonight.
I was so glad to have your message also about the piano idea. Sorry I haven't responded, yet. It sounds as if you chose very well. Yamaha digital, with those features is fun, and presumably it's got weighted keys like a non digital one. I used one ( Clavinova) for years as an extra beside my grand piano, and it went with us to West Africa where a trad piano wouldn't have lasted 5 mins in the humidity and heat. Useful for silent practising (!) and two piano works! But we needed the space, weren't taking it abroad any more, and I was aware that it wasn't as responsive after playing it for about 15 mins. That's just MY thing! We have one at school in use as a portable accompanying tool etc.
Yes I had a number of pupils doing their exams yesterday. Ranging Grade 3-7 and adults to teens! (You're right. it's their responsibility.) Have fun Sally, picking out lovely and manageable bits from the Beethoven Sonatas! Playing an instrument certainly reaches parts of the brain that other things don't reach, and is great for being absorbed on fasting days.
Oops! Duplicate, sorry.K.
