Good Morning All.
Fasting today instead of my normal Monday. Big long weekend with the family just after 2 weeks off so heres hoping today is a good one.

I always find this weird, half one in the morning in France. I cannot sleep after my Monday fast so am looking through the site!
Hi, I'm fasting today. Had a big weekend too, but also had a fall and have hurt my knee and my back, and couldn't fast yesterday because I needed to take an anti-inflammatory and you have to take them with food. Not taking the pills today, and feeling a bit sorry for myself. I'm hoping it gets better in a couple of days.

Did anyone else in Australia see the program on BBC Knowledge over the weekend on The Men Who Made Us Fat. It should be an interesting series.
It's my fast day today, I usually have a light lunch but today I'm going to try lasting until dinner before eating. I was a little naughty on the weekend but I won't give details here, they are too tempting. I start weight training this week, if any one has advice in this area I'd be very grateful. :heart:

I'm in today instead of Monday.
Long weekend in Sydney which meant 4 days of eating a lot of junk and drinking too much wine.
I really need to start watching myself on feast days. I'm eating more than I ever was before I think. And when I weighed I was 11st4/5lb so I've put on a good few pounds in the last ten days or so.. hopefully that was because it was the wrong TOTM.

First fast day of the 5:2. :confused:
My mum tried it and had some success so i thought I would give it a go. Waited till 10.30 to eat my first bit of food, trying to hang out till 2 for the second bit and then an early dinner at 6.

Hoping I can do this, its not too difficult so far but I am sure this afternoon is going to drag.
Welcome to the forum al4285! You can do this! Drink water, tea, coffee or have a cup of bouillon. It does get easier, keep busy. Hunger doesn't build and build, it will settle down just give it a little time. YOU CAN DO THIS! ;)
Good luck al4285. The first fast day is the hardest, definitely! But you will feel so good at the end of the day/tomorrow morning knowing you did it.
As Betsy said the hunger will calm down, just ride out the 10-15 min waves :) (easy for us to say I know but I bet you will be saying the same to a newbie in a month or so!)

I'm in today, 2nd of three for the week.
Broken the three day thing with exercise so it should be easier now to continue - she hopes!

My stomach is not rumbling at all but I just want to eat.. anyone else get that?!
I'm with you Lilsmiler, same thing happens to me. I just want to snack on something! Gave in today and had a few garlic/chilly peas, yummy and hopefully not too damaging to the fast day. One fast day done now for me this week and another to come on Thursday.

I always tell myself I can have it tomorrow and sometimes even plan all the goodies I will eat. Once I get there mostly I no longer want it! Bizarre but it works every time!
I'm fasting too, what looks like it will be the only fast for me this week.

My Tassimo machine arrived from ebay yesterday so I am experimenting with various black coffees. Good luck evryone :clover:
I'm in today thought I had bulimia without the being sick yesterday with the amount I ate LOL.

I normally fast Mondays but for some reason my head (not to mention my tummy) wasn't in it.

So plenty of mint tea and water with an apple throughout the day and a nice low cal chicken kiev with salad for dinner followed by what looks like 3 hours of ironing - gggrrrrr!

I'm in again today. Did one yesterday as well, which went well. Dont normally do them back-to-back but I'm out tomorrow and as I'm a 4:3 girl I thought I'd try Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for a change.
