I'm in today! Not my usual Thursday, but a social day tomorrow so I will do today instead.

Can't believe that after today there is only one more Wednesday between me and Christmas. Such a lot to do!

Good luck to all those fasting today and welcome to any newbies!
I'll join you, Otter :) But not until the morning!
I'm in, Otter! Struggling already as one of my colleagues has brought in some salted roasted cashew nuts... WHY is there always something delicious available on fast days! But I am determined that my will power will be victorious! I almost enjoy proving people wrong! They think I won't be strong but I always am - and them doubting me makes me stronger.

I am considering fasting 2 days in a row this week because the only days I am able to fast is today and tomorrow - people that don't know much about the diet are telling me I shouldn't and my body will go into starvation mode and stop the fat burning process - is this true? If it is I'm going to only be able to do one fast this week, which, after a weekend that continued until TUESDAY this week, just isn't going to be enough! I feel like a beached whale and it's only Wednesday!

Let me know your thoughts and thanks for having a listening ear (reading eye) as always!

Kelkelkelster
I think I will fast today - overindulged on leftover Christmas party treats yesterday, and am going out with friends tomorrow, usual fast day. Will see how I go.
Still wet and miserable in Melbourne - just hung the washing out and now it is pouring :(

Kelkelkester - my understanding is that it is perfectly fine to fast 2 days in a row if that suits - and you can manage it!! I also believe that you have to fast a lot longer than 2 days for the body to think it is in starvation mode - but I know there are others much more knowledgeable about this on the forum. Best wishes for whatever you decide to do :)
Hi Sassy1

Thank you for that! From what I've read, my understanding is the same. I have done it before and it was quite difficult by the end of the 2nd day - mostly with regards to my mood, haha!

I guess I'll do today and see how I feel tomorrow - I am in Melbourne too, it's crazy weather considering it's meant to be lovely tomorrow and the weekend!

Enjoy your day!
I'm in. I'm supposed to be maintaining, but I think I jumped the gun a bit. I only just reached my target after the third fast day of last week. Anyway, doing 4:3 in the run up to Xmas is probably not a bad idea.

Re: fasting two days in a row. Dr. Moseley suggests two non-consecutive days, but the other 5:2 diet is two days in a row. I think plenty of people here dow consecutive days with no trouble. I've done it once, and managed fine, but felt pretty crappy the day after.
Hi all, hope your fast day is going well!

@Kelkelkelster - sometimes if I can only fit in one fast in a week, I just turn another day or two into 16:8 days. Otherwise, your idea of 2 in a row seems to be something I read about others doing without problems

I've got a rumbling tummy today, but know from experience that it will pass.

:clover:
Hi Otter and everyone :)
I am on second black coffee and have had 4 cups of tea throughout the day. Am aiming to hang out til dinner time, but may have a miso soup...
Am trying to get all my Christmas cards written today :) it's quite a job, so I keep taking breaks and checking the forum - which is a major (but nice) distraction!!!!!
:::waves::: Morning all! I'm in today, back to my normal Wednesday fast and feeling positive about it. Drinking my first cup of proper tea of the day :-)

My whole body is aching from all the exercise I've done in the last two days..... Wonder if I'm still burning any fat, haha!

Good luck and stay strong, Wonderful Wednesday Fasters!
feeling a bit fuzzy. I've donated 50ml of blood to science (a small amount compared to the usual red cross donation), but it's made me a bit queasy. They only had to poke me once, for a change. I've had a miso soup. I guess i should just drink lots of water...
I'm in today. You take care of yourself MaryAnn. Have no idea what the time difference is to Japan will have to look it up. Only another two more fasts before Christmas for me. Hope I can post just a little bit more to the Christmas club total. Good luck everybody.
I am in today as well after yesterday's big success
Well, not exactly as we will go to the restaurant tonight with my OH but I won't eat anything until then. And tomorrow will be the anniversary on when we met (12/12/2012, that was supposed to be the end of the world anyway   )

@kelkelkelsterI usually do 2 fasts in the row, just because I find it easier that way. The only trouble I have is with the cold, I am freezing cold even if the temperatures in my apartment are good (20°C) but I can deal with it.

Like I said yesterday, if I have a craving I plan to keep taking a tbsp of homemade peanut butter, it really helps

Good luck to all :clover:
I,m in today, it,s my second fast this week. I really want to get a few more fast days in before Christmas.
I'm in! Taking it seriously now with two weeks to go until Crimbo. I re-commenced 5:2 a couple of weeks ago but used it as an excuse to eat more on my normal eating days so I was eating back my losses. Now I'm determined to shift at least a couple of pounds before the festive season, so that I can indulge (in moderation) without worrying....
Morning all, I'm in today, but may only get one day in this week.

Good luck everyone!
