First week back for a while and looking forward to the challenges ahead. Lost 3lbs this week, I know it's mostly water but it's a start.
Decided it had to be New Year New Me as my health was suffering. Tried all the popular clubs and magazines related to losing weight and thought that the only way I managed to give up smoking 20 years ago was by cutting it out altogether. Well, I can't do that with food, but fasting 2-3 times a week is the next best thing, and I feel I'm not so deprived as with other ways of eating.
So good luck to my fellow fasters :like:

Looking forward to a healthier future

WELL DONE - WHAT A SUCCESSFUL START AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU. GREAT NEW YEAR'S DECISION.

I am in today, too. I am finding my brain accepts fast days unquestionably and thinks on non fast days it's a free for all. So am thinking of outsmaring brain and put in three fasts for the time being, even if the third fast is up to 800cals.
Having had a good fast on Monday, I am allowing myself 600-800 today.

See who is cleverer, me or my brain.
Hi there fellow fasters. Seriously in the fasting, working out mode this week (please last, please last) and am experiencing what I call a fasting high, although I could be mistaken and it could be a caffeine buzz, another black coffee anyone!?! Image

Embrace the fasts everyone x

@oscarthewestie welcome back and well done for those three lbs! Do you really have a Westie called Oscar? I love those little dogs.
@Carieoates sorry you still have carb flu,how long does it usually last do you know? X

Hello CandiceMarie (pretty name) thanks for the welcome, also to the others who welcomed me back.
Sadly I no longer have Oscar my beautiful Westie - he died very suddenly in his sleep a couple of weeks after I last posted, but fortunately it was due to old (age16 and half) and I had a rather sad year or so of missing him.
I couldn't change the name as it feels disrespectful to his memory, but my husband surprised me last Valentines Day with two naughty little bags of fluff who I have named Freddie and Little Ted (half size of his brother).
Sorry to drone on but good wishes to everyone and happy fasting
Aw @oscarthewestie not droning on at all, what a story! Sorry to hear of Oscar 's passing, but i bet he had a lovely life and now you have two more little chaps to have years of fun with, bless them! X

Only light bulbs may be dim  When you go really low carb, e.g. under 30g, it can cause for some, me included, symptoms of feeling a bit tired and lethargic until you get used to it. The other side effect for me is being up all night weeing!!!!

Ah ha, I think I have carb flu, trying to go very low carb as I cannot exercise at the moment and I thought this might help boost things along, normally I would just up the mileage. BUT I have felt so lethargic, went to about 700 calories on Monday's fast, so kept to about 800 calories on Tuesday. On today's fast I am really struggling. I am supposed to be doing my French homework but I am tired and cannot concentrate. I've already had some smoked salmon and I think it likely I will hit around 800 calories again. I'm sure I will lose weight doing this even without exercising but would it be better to include some carbs and revert back to 1000 - 1200 on normal days and 500 on fast days? I might get my French completed
I'm late checking in but it's Wednesday so one of my usual 4:3. I had a very late dinner last night because there were tricky roadworks on the route home from the gym and the delays meant that we ate far later than I prefer.

So, downside, it's been uncomfortable eating more than I typically do so close to bedtime - upside, I'm even less interested than usual in food on this FD.
Good morning everyone, I'm checking in for the day. This is my 2nd fast day of the week. After this I have a 1000 calorie Friday coming. Monday went well so I'm hoping today does also.
Wow, lots of activity here today. I am going to try again to do a proper fast. I "planned" to do one Sunday past but once I started eating, it became more of an eating window as I was well over 1000 kcal. Hope I haven't lost my fasting mojo. My fast day self-discipline seems to have waned since late last year. I am sort of maintaining but joined the Equinox challenge to lose 5 pounds so need to focus  and just get there.
Good luck fellow fasters .:like: :clover:
