I'm in for Thursday. 2nd of the week. I really don't have much hope its going to be a strict fast because my kids are both coming home today, I'm sure we'll have a celebratory dinner. I'll cook it, I won't eat much, and I won't eat until then but I just need to get my fasting mojo back! Why do I always self-sabotage when I know I have a doctors appointment coming up Monday? I swear I'm going to be up to 5pounds by then between salt and sugar and the fat.... I'm really having a terrible eating week, no discipline at all. oh well I'll keep trying. Reading all your inspirational support is very helpful I'm going to try to keep busy.
In today as well but been very busy. Have eldest off sick and loads to do. Should lose at least a 1lb with all the running around I am doing LOL
@CandiceMarie - bog eyed? I nearly posted in the insomniacs tent last night, finally got to sleep at 4am. @Wineoclock even though I gave my daughter a huge hug this morning before I left for work, I rushed from work at 4pm to give her another hug before she left home for Heathrow. It was GREAT  The flight takes off at 9.05pm.
It's my first Xmas fasting, I have had 6 lunch/dinner events so far at restaurants. I chose the same foods I cook at home, protein and lots of veg but boy by body feels different - I guess you never know the bottom line ingredients in some establishments. Never mind, I had great times with friends. I'll continue to be mindful and pick it up in the NY, or before if that fits the way the land lies.
Happy fasting, especially to those beginning in the west. I'm off to find stuffing recipes  one veg, one not ..... very busy times ahead
Ohhh no @lizbean! We need someone to knock us over the head with a hammer

Hi all not been on here for a while but pleased to report I'm still on the 5-2 and the weight still coming off even if slowly. I'm fasting today as usual and its not gone to bad managed to keep under the 500 cals and seeing as its nearly time for bed I think I can say I,ve cracked it. Hopefully I can post a loss this week on my tracker.
Wishing every one a peaceful happy festive season. :-D
Hi @Luvleeju it is good to hear from you, well done, slow is good, it's best! Wishing you happy hols - I'm really looking forward to some me time. x
@CandiceMarie aw thanks, love sleepy kiddie winks and sleepy moon, yawn! I could do with a hammer, at times. Might give mag a shot (new to me) - though I think I just need time out from work, let's see. :victory: Yum fish is always a food fastday treat for me, what fish do you like? Little bit of smoked salmon with big green salad this eve, was a treat. Sleep well.
Hope fasters out west are doing well. This feels like a relay - handing over the fasting batten across time. Happy fasting. :clover:
Hey, I was in today; not many posts, guess everyone's busy with the season. Successful fast today; off to bed real soon. I've been a little lazy lately with my dinners, not having enough veggies, made up for it tonight: my stir fry included mushrooms, broccoli, brussels sprouts, zucchini, grape tomatoes.

I don't think I've ever mentioned here that I use vegetable or mushroom broth (we get it in aseptic packaging here) for sauteing on light days; even some normal days. I love mushrooms, and those puppies soak up oil like little sponges! On normal days I'll use a dab of toasted sesame oil (enhances the mushroom flavor) and the broth. Cooking the veggies in broth is tasty too.
