Thursday Fast June 18th
17 Jun 2015, 20:17
I'm in again. Pants tight, Tuesday had a bit of a fail. Learning from my mistakes..if I don't eat enough during the day I come home so hungry I eat over calorie limit. So today porridge for brekky, choc fudge mini protein bar packed and soup made for late lunch. Been awake since 4am so will be tired so hopefully early night. Good luck anyone joining me.

You are an early bird @GMH! I am in today today - second fast of the week and I certainly understand what you mean about going over calorie limit if you are hungry. If I don't eat as soon as I get home from work I am tempted to snack before dinner.
Just tea and black coffee until dinner tonight. Busy day planned with a walk at lunch time to get me through that hungry time. Happy Thursday fasting everyone!

Morning Winter Challengers. I'm in as well. Planning a Mexican Bean Soup for dinner, which I will have early. I might make the soup this morning so it's on hand and I can go for that in that hungry time in the late afternoon. Black coffee now. Perhaps and orange or an apple later in the day for lunch. Planning a walk at some time. It's a cold sunny day.

I'm in today, too. I know what you mean about tight pants, GMH. I started my recent US trip a couple of kg over my maintenance limit, and I'm sure I gained while I was there.

You know, since I reached goal weight, and then immediately gained some on my Christmas holiday, I have continued fasting at least 3 days a week. Mostly full blown 500 calorie fasts. I keep saying I'll do it until I get back to goal weight then change tack. Clearly I NEED to do it in order to maintain (or sort of maintain)--I imagine I'd be gaining if I didn't fast. I'm so scared to stop. But part of me thinks I need to change tack. If its the fasting that leads to the overeating (almost definitely fasting is at least partially to blame), perhaps I'd be better of using a daily eating window approach. I dunno. I feel I need a change, but I'm scared to change until I'm back to my goal weight!

It has occurred to me that I may continue to have this dilemma for the rest of my life. As long as I don't get fat again, I guess it's not such a bad problem to have.

@MaryAnn I hear you, but I have found that if I do 3 days of 700 to 1000 cals I do not go on a rampage in the other days, I do eat a lot of low GI carbs on feed days, because I can, however it's a similar eating regime to low cal days Just add wine and carbs :-) you could try it?

Just droping by as it's Thursday and was a fast day but in my new routing, it'l be tomorrow. Good luck to all.
@MaryAnn, i find that i have been 4:3 ing for ages with little loss, and when i've had mad spells, i haven't gained much. I, too keep thinking I need/want a change but am comfortable with 4:3.
i still haven't declared 'maintenance' but and now doing 4:3 with the Friday fast a 'let's see what happens' one. 2 good fasts and a full day on Friday until tea time then see ....
It feels like a change!

Had my Mexican bean soup at 5pm. It was warming. I walked around town and didn't eat all day until I got home at 4pm. I have to admit to 4 sesame wheat biscuits with butter. Now I am ok. I'll have a bath and get into jarmies for the evening, maybe have a hot milk later on. A good fast accomplished.

Well....I put my soup in the microwave, pulled it out, bit hot and ended up dropping most of it down the sink, boo boo. So cooked some parsnip carrot mash with a dash of butter, beautiful. Then I succumbed to the new case of red wine! But made myself get on the scales even tho I had just eaten and I fear tomorrow morning's weigh in will be nasty, so 1 glass of wine and still in at about 700 cals. I have been failing a bit too often, so the fish may need to come out, plus cut back on naughty treats

I am Thursday fasting as well. My weight this morning was 52.1 kg!!! I was amazed. It is very positive.
I think I know what is happening. My hubby has lost his job and I am on sick leave, we don't have much money. So we tried to save by eating more vegetarian. That was not good for weight loss. This week I have been cleaning the freezer, and we have meat and veg for suppers. And voila! The weight is down. Today is difficult, housecleaning with an empty stomach....
I wonder what the weight will be tomorrow. Next week the first guests and cake will arrive.... One more fast before they arrive, next Tuesday, I'll be fasting and they'll arrive at 21.15. But I'll have to get through today first!

I'm in today - not eaten so far, but feeling very jealous of everyone eating lunch all around me at the moment. There's also three types of cake in the office, and a tub of sweets to be avoided...

I've got Hairy Dieters' prawn korma waiting for me in the fridge for tea - had it on Tuesday and it will need thickening up a bit, and some spice adding, but I'm really looking forward to it!

Had a mostly successful fast on Tuesday, although I made some fudge for a friend's birthday, so obviously had to try a piece to make sure I wasn't going to poison her! I was on about 450 calories without that though, so I don't think it will have pushed me over by much. I've tried to be more careful than normal on my off days too this week, I'm going wedding dress shopping on Saturday so I would love to see a loss on the scales before I go!

I'm in today rather than tomorrow as I have a rare day off and we are going out with friends tomorrow night so fasting in the office which is something I don't normally do ... but on the strength of today I might well swap my days around so I am not fasting at home as despite my misgivings I am actually finding it easier !

Had my protein bar for lunch and am toying with the idea of mackerel salad for dinner , I was going to have soup but its so glorious outside my window I think it just has to be a salad day :-)

I'm in today. Yesterday was my dad's birthday and I knew we were going to dinner so I purposefully did not eat the entire day. It's a good thing I did because I had my 1500 calories with dinner and (a very small piece of) cake alone! I worked out that day so I was a few hundred calories below TDEE, which makes me feel better. Today I have fruit for lunch. I'm in a rotten mood as I have work today while it seems like my entire city is downtown watching our Stanley Cup winning hockey team at the parade. Booooo. Hopefully I don't turn to food to cheer me up. lol. Good luck all.
