Morning. Quite enjoyed the 10 mins lie in I allowed myself on the grounds that I don't have to make breakfast or packed lunch as it's fast day.

Plan for today...

Now: Coffee with skimmed milk and sweetener (20 kcal)

Workday: Lots of water and Redbush tea. Bovril at lunch (5 kcal)

(Exercise: Aerobics class)

Dinner: Water Chestnut & Bamboo Shoot Stir-Fry with Chinese Leaf, Red Onion & Peppers (81 kcal) and Turkey strips (250 kcal) with ginger, garlic, black pepper and soy sauce (10 kcal)

Evening: Redbush tea and water
Sounds like you're all prepared Lucky! Good luck - tho I'm sure you won't need it.

Have a good day. :D
Me!

6th Fast Day for me, 2nd of the ADF this week.

Didn't eat many calories yesterday (1400) as wasn't hungry at lunch, so had early Tea, then was a bit hungry at Bed time!

Feel okay now, lots of outside work to do today so should be fine.

When I glance down I can see my tinkle when I sprinkle, which is encouraging! ( ok sorry TMI, but you ladies keep mentioning "that" thing!)

Soup and crackers planned for Tea with a sprinkling of Rocket Salad, Yummy!
Me too!

Just tucking into a mug of tea and some smoked salmon....mmmmm ;-)

Good luck to all!
Might give it another go today having dipped out yesterday due to snuffles snorts and sneezes. We have so much veg in the fridge, I think it will have to a veggie surprise for dinner.
Today's my fourth fast, and looking to save up most of my cals for an evening dinner. I'm not sure as to how i'll do as it's my first fast day where I'm attempting to exercise.

Shrimp stir-fry with broccoli, carrots and "zero" noodles- (250 aprox.) and a side salad (60) should do

Tea, ginger water, and plain water to keep me hydrated through out the day as well.

I'll keep you all posted!

'Zero' noodles????? What are they??

You might be pleasantly surprised at how the exercise goes. I've found that when I've done Aerobics or Body Combat on a fast day I've felt stronger than usual (and don't ache as much as usual in the mornings)- plus, I REALLY enjoy my dinner when I get home!! What exercise have you got planned?
Hey Lucky,

My usual 4-5 mile run. Thanks for the encouragement, I tend to get a bit dehydrated on my runs so I'm hoping to drink a decent amount of water tomorrow just in case both prior and after the run.

Zero noodles are also referred to as yam noodles or shiritake noodles. You can usually find them in Asian supermarkets. They don't have much of a taste and take up the flavor of whatever spices you throw in your dish. I think you can order them online as well. There's a brand known as Miracle noodles that a lot of people have been using on their fast days.

The ones I purchase in the store are about 40 calories for 200g I believe. It's not for everyone though...they have a bit of a rubbery taste, it takes some getting used to
Sixth fast day on 5:2, and a beautiful sunrise for extra cheer. Could well be going for another long bike ride. Saving my calories for evening meal with wife, who has gone to work armed only with an apple! Good luck everyone.
Pete

Update @ 15:00 - went for a long walk instead of biking, 8.5 miles in 2h 15m, and now feel cold and my joints are stiffening up. Hunger not a problem but definitely feel empty. Another cup of earl grey then start on preparing dinner. Wife is going to try running on a fast day when she gets home - I am going to wait until tomorrow!
HI
Today is my first proper fast, i had a trial run last week which went ok so am jumping in with both feet this week
Tues and Thurs will be my repair days
am hoping to make it through to evening but if not have some porridge or some fruit for lunch
jeniben
Me today too. Think it's beef stew when I get around to the vegetables.

Another ADF'er! <waves> :-)
Hi everyone, interesting to read all your preferred regimes. Today is my 6th fast and the beginning of my 3rd week on 5:2.

I have lost 5lbs in a fortnight so am very happy, especially as my feed days have included a couple of meals out and a party :-)

I have done my 20 min strength workout this morning (I have exercised regularly for a long time, so this is not a new thing) and will make sure I do enough steps to reach my 10,000 goal throughout the day

I didn't eat before my workout (never have done).

Breakfast 08.30 :- Cottage cheese and raspberries - really nice! And herbal tea. (160 kcals)

Throughout the day: tea with skimmed milk (100 kcals max) and lots of water and weak black coffee/herbal tea

Dinner - approx 7pm:- Boiled eggs x2 with asparagus spears dipped in - maybe a mini tangerine depending on how much asparagus I have.

I weigh and measure everything so as to not exceed the 500.

Good luck everyone!
