Today's one of my regular fast days. So far, so good. I tend to eat dinner on Sunday and Thursday evenings then just drinks until Monday/Friday evening. If I feel the need for a put-me-on, I have a Chocomilk from the vending machine at work (60 cals, but the extra 20 cals difference between that and an Options is really worth it!)

I prefer fasting at work as I can concentrate on things other than food and there's less irrestible stuff around. Usually. Last week my boss' mother made a pile of stuff. She's a wonderful baker. I fell by the wayside... :shame:

But that was last week. Now I have a tape measure :fear: and an exercise DVD - and I'm not afraid to use them! rofl

When do others find it easiest to fast?
I'm in today, too. Basketcase, I fast M, W & F. I much prefer fasting at work, when I have things to keep me busy and distracted. Besides, I really enjoy not being the dieting nutcase when I'm spending time with my husband on the weekends. :)

I'm one of two wonderful bakers in my office, so my weekday fasting helps everyone else's health, too. :)
Last week I tried to fast on one of the holiday days, and struggled so badly. I definitely find it easiest to do it when I am at work during the day, and have company in the evening.
I'm doing Tues and Fri this week - as Mon was Bank Hol and had visitors for lunch yesterday. Just had my midday veggie oxo, and already had 2 black coffees. Peppermint tea due at about 3 and then a piece of salmon with squeezed fresh lime and walnut oil, baked for about 20 mins, and some boiled potatoes for dins this evening.

This is my 8th fast day, and I'd lost 5 lb at last weigh-in, but that was morning of fast day 7 ... however not tempted to weigh again before I'm due to, next Tuesday, by which time I'll also have done Fast Day 9 [next Mon].
I've just cracked and had some soup - was hoping to last until dinner but today is one of my most difficult fasts so far. Still got plenty of calories left for a big dinner though... just hoping I haven't totally woken my hunger up!
Hey everyone hope you're all getting through ok :) im in today, i usually fast monday and thursday but this week worked out wednesday and friday. My first ever friday so we'll see how it goes when we have friends round later! I've just had a blueberry tea so far and not feeling hungry yet, its definately getting easier..i usually have a banana in the morning to regulate my blood sugar, a boiled egg in the afternoon to fill me up and an oxo drink at 5ish to keep me warm! But today i'll see how long i can go then probably have some fish and veggies later. Good luck today everyone and happy friday :)
Fasting today and I'm lucky because my allergy medicine had me sleeping till 2.30pm so half the day was gone with no hunger or eating. So far I had my coffee and bowl of boiled veggies. I boiled a packed of them which contains 490 calories so I can eat the whole pot and a portion of my diet jelly.
Hi Guys!

Doing a fast today and this is my first post - been doing the 5:2 for a couple of weeks and loving it so far. It really suits my lifestyle as I'm 23 and love to go out at the weekend and tend to breakout when I'm hungover.

Feeling strangely not hungry (a rarity for me!) today, I didn't even overeat yesterday. I had soup at lunch and I'll have an omelette packed with veggies tonight. I'll sleep dreaming of all the food I can eat tommorrow!
I normally fast on Thursdays but developed a nasty fever wednesday night which only broke midday thursday. I figured I needed the extra calories yesterday to help recovery so am fasting today instead. I feel dreadful, however, and am beginning to shiver again so suspect my temp has gone up (fever shivery not the cold i normally get with the fast). Brr. I think I may have to leave work early and go to bed. No appetite so not hungry but want this day to be over already! I seem to have been plagued with illnesses recently, I don't know what is wrong!

Good luck to all fasters today. I really hope you have a better day than I am!
I'm fasting today, too. I fasted on Mon. and Wed. I started the diet on Monday and decided to do alternate days. As of this morning, I've lost 4 lbs. Believe it or not, this diet is teaching me how to eat regularly and not feel guilty!

I drink coffee alternated with water all day, caffeinated first, then decaf in the afternoon. The hot drink tricks my stomach into thinking it's full. If I get really hungry, I have a cup of water with soup base in it for about 10 calories.

We have our Sabbath supper tonight, which is always fish, challah bread (VERY RICH!), and wine. I will likely go over in calories, but I'm going to try not to feast too much. I'm eating normally tomorrow.

Best wishes with your fasting today!
We're in for today. Have an important shopping trip planned so will just have a small side salad with dressing on side for lunch. ;-)
Hope you are feeling better Louise.
I found this morning very difficult for some reason because I suddenly was feeling very hungry.
However I made it to the hairdressers which was nice & distracting & had a coffee & since then with a Bovril for lunch have been back on track. I am now looking forward to my M&S supper of Beef Meatballs & Spaghetti (380 cals) at 6-30 that should leave me extra for a hot chocolate & a banana. I will have to survive making lamb curry for my husband though (too many cals for me today).
My usual fast days are Monday & Friday. I hope everyone's fast day goes well.
We have been away for couple of days and got back Tuesday evening so whereas I usually fast on Mon and Thurs I have swapped to Wed and Friday this week. Doing ok so far, hubbie is on night shift tonight so I will be keeping busy catching up with some work and looking forward to haddock for dinner and a options choccy drink.

Good luck all !!
Hi it's my 4th today but I have had a big gap between fasting days as hubby has been off work for just over a week. I haven't done too bad today and will have my next fast on Monday, he's on nights now so that helps a lot! I have the next 6 booked in my diary! I was fine until lunchtime - my previous fasts broke about 11 when I had a boiled egg, but this time I lasted til 12.30 but felt hungry all afternoon. I had to give in and have a few pickled onions! Made home made stew for tea, not sure of the calories - worked it out on 4 portions being 345 but I reckon it will make at least 6!

I am interested in hearing more about the Bovril drink - can you make it with marmite or a beef oxo cube? I like the idea of something like this but not sure how to go about it!
I use a veg Oxo cube - but OH has a beef Oxo as a warming hot drink with his lunchtime sandwich - I was going to say winter, but it shouldn't be winter still now we're in April, anyway, he had one today. Just crumble the cube into a mug and fill from a boiling kettle, stirring well. I haven't checked for a calorie count, but I found when I read the pack that there is a tiny bit of wheat flour in the veg one, but I doubt it's enough to cause a carb rush!
