Late doing my fasts this week - fasting today and possibly Friday or Saturday if I can face it. Wish I could get this "looking forward to it" attitude that lots of people seem to get. Not too bad when I am doing it, it's just the thought of it that is hard. :curse:
I am on my 2nd fast of the week today. The only looking forwards I have is looking forwards to tomorrow not having to count calories / deprive myself for the rest of the week :)
Although I am feeling pretty good about this way of eating. I'm not finding it easy, but I am finding it mostly achievable.
Have some spicy lentil soup for lunch then stir fry with my OH and little one this evening - I think I'll cook mine separate so I can avoid the oil OH tends to glug into the wok (didn't think of this last time so ended up eating less than I would have done).
Think i'm on my 11th fast, but actually losing count... week 5 anyway and feeling good! Work clothes much looser and whilst only a 2lb weight loss, friends have been asking if i have lost weight. Strange since i've fluctuated 7lbs all my adult life really and nobody ever asks if i've lost weight!
Fasting today going well so far: water with lemon and mugs of warm water and lemon all morning. Then Ainsley Harriot cuppa soup Szechuan flavour 66 calories for lunch.
Dinner will be a sainsbury's chicken laska 299 calories i think? bulked up with spinach from the fridge and other left over veg.
I am naughty though and don't count my numberous cups of coffee with milk... would NEVER take it black (yuk) and just not ready to cut back yet ;-)
oh and on the looking forward to thing - i only ever look forward to getting to the end of the day so i can have what i want tomorrow! waking up on non fast days makes me excited for breakfast!!
I'm fasting today as well. Although I had other planned fasts this week, today is my first for the week. (Note: I only started this plan last week  ). I am still struggling with all of the Easter chocolate in the house with the kids! Then when the sugar gets into my system, watch out! Evening popcorn has become a common theme this past week! So I am planning on fasting today and again on Friday. Funny because even though I did the two days of fasting last week, I ate ALOT of sugar and bad food choices. I see it almost immediately in my tummy! I tend to be so extreme with either really good decisions or really bad decisions. I am having trouble getting back to the really good side since Easter. I am hoping that this 5:2 helps, at least to get me started with the fasts and then hopefully the other 'feast' days will get easier with better food choices. My fasting days have always consisted of just fluids (I have been doing a weekly one day fast off and on for over a year now), so no food for me today. Just water with fresh lemon, green tea with fresh lemon, dandelion tea (to help with the cleansing of the liver) and maybe peppermint tea this afternoon (for the cravings, if they kick in).

Good luck with your fast today everyone -- here's to making it through and considering the day a 'success'! :victory:
*waves* Hi, my first fasting day today....I'm using My Fitness Pal to log calories so have my diary planned out. Had a banana and two cups of black coffee so far. Having a cheese salad for lunch and tuna steak with mushrooms for dinner. So far - so simple!
Morning all (for me at least  ) Today is my second ever fast day - I'm going to be doing a 4:3 routine for a few weeks, at least. I found my first day (Monday) almost too easy, and yesterday was the bad day with growling tummy and food-obsessed thoughts. What's that about??

Black coffee for me today, with bouillon drinks as needed to stop the growls (this helps so much! :victory: ) along with herbal and black teas. Supper will be steamed broccoli, a small bit of baked boneless skinless chicken breast, and I'm going to bulk up with cucumbers in vinegar, while the rest of the family has rice.

:clover:
So far so good. Made it to lunch time with no problems. Green tea is becoming a life saver! And having something that fills me up like a great big bowl of broth with lots of vegetables and chicken and my favourite spices and chillies made it easier.

Now to get through the next few hours of work, pick up the husband and head home for a light dinner and catching up on a couple of episodes of Game of Thrones while folding the piles of laundry that seemed to have snuck up behind me.

No headaches either which is very surprising!
It is so much more a mental game than a hunger game! I am fasting fine today as far as hunger goes, but that mind of mine wants to give in! I just got some potentially good news that my emotional eating wants to reward -- got to get out of that frame of mind and prevail with the fasting for today! :)
I'm fasting today, my first of the week, and I'm doing OK. My hunger is under control, but I'm feeling a bit sad. Sadness usually makes me want to eat nothing but slice after slice of warm buttered toast. I'm grateful for a fast day, which will not let me indulge in self-pity or toast. :)

Best of luck to all.
I'm on my 6th fast, so far so good. I had two boiled eggs and a pear this morning for breakfast. will eat fish with a salad for dinner. I went for a 30 minute run and took my beagle for another 30 minute walk .. My energy level is surprisingly good. I also use My Fitness Pal, it helps me keep track of what I'm eating throughout the day.

I've found drinking my cinnamon/apple throughout my fast day really helps. The night before my fast I fill my large water pitcher with a large cinnamon stick and slices of a whole apple. This is delicious and keeps me really satisfied. Good luck everyone!

Ooh, I have to try this and take a bottle into work with me, it sounds so nice!
Fasting today. Week 6. Love the cinnamon apple idea!
I have been fasting today too... Last time eating was last night 6.30 pm and then today not before 6 pm.. so almost 24 hours gap, and was not not even hard :-). It is my 3. fasting day - started Friday and then again this Monday.. Hope it will continue this way :-).
I'm fasting today and finding it annoying difficult! Ive breezed through my last few fasts but today I feel headachy, tired, sick and HUNGRY. Oh well - another hour or so and I'll put myself to bed and look forward to waking up tomorrow and feeling proud of myself. Good luck to everyone else who is struggling today.
