I'm fasting too today and I'm happy because I went to bed at 4am and woke up at 1am which means that almost half the day is gone, LOL!

I've been fasting for two months now - I think I've lost about 9lbs but I'm finding my weight is jumping around a lot, is anyone else finding this? I would say my average loss is 1lb per week ish.
Good luck to anyone that's fasting - I've found that the best thing for hunger pangs (except for fizzy water) is earl grey tea with a bit of lemon.
Haven't eaten anything yet, but I'm planning on having a small chicken breast w/ veggies for dinner & maybe a berries and fatfree yoghurt smoothie for evening snack if I don't run out of calories.
I've tried dozens of WOEs before this and was doing quite great with lowcarb for years but nowadays it's been quite difficult to keep up with it (and it sure shows in my waistline) - LC is too restrictive in my current job and overall life situation. However, I'm still avoiding over-consuming sugars and starches even during feast days as they do no good for me.
I'm very intrigued with 5:2, it sounds very promising for me!
I'm fasting today, which is a miracle of mind over matter. Felt decidedly this morning - tired, hungry and really did NOT want to get out of bed, let alone exercise, fast and work!
However, although I do want to lose weight (something like another 3 stone (42lbs) I'm also into this for the health benefits. (My daughter worries about me, and we can't have that! ) So I got up, did a 1/2 hour exercise DVD and here I am.
It doesn't feel too bad, all things considered. I'm not as tired as I thought I'd be and am only marginally hungrier now than I would normally have been at this time.
Must remember this the next time my brain rebels! Do wish I could go home and sleep till teatime though...
Never felt better!
Years ago I got through a 9 day fast and recall how dreadful it was. I'm currently in my 22nd hour of fasting and feel remarkably better on the 5:2 guidelines than the previous fast.
I used to avoid "good food" at the grocery store because it always seemed ghastly expensive! But I'm committed and NEED to do something about the state that I am in. I don't have much weight to lose, at least I don't think I do, so hoping to get the other health benefits and keep my SLE (lupus)at bay. So far I have way more energy than I usually do on my high carb diet. My mood is elevated too! Let's hope all fast days are so lovely.
So happy I watched the Horizon special, and also to have found this forum!
Good luck to everybody fasting today.
