Fasting today Friday 19th April

I couldn't find a thread so I guess I'm the first to check in today!
It's turned cold in Sydney so maybe everyone down here has stayed in bed- yes we are wimps in the colder weather!
I'm mostly a Thursday faster but had a lunch date yesterday so moved my fast to today- I love the flexibility of this WOE.
I did go for a swim in an outdoor pool this morning( it was heated) and it was lovely.
Having lots of (milkless) chai tea, a coffee or two, and water till 6pm veges and fruit and prob a yoghurt. I can't be bothered getting fancy on fast days!

Yes, I'm fasting today (Friday) in Southern California - supposed to be a lovely warm day and hopefully will be an easy fast, followed by a nice Saturday and Sunday when I can eat what I want - within reason, of course!! Good luck everyone !!
oh, man am I suffering today. My tummy started grumbling before noon (I have been splitting the 500 cals between breakfast and dinner). It's kind of coming in waves, but at this rate, alot of waves will crash before dinner. I think I need to try splitting between lunch and dinner, or even waiting until dinner. I am not hungry when I wake up usually; I just split the meals that way because it's what Dr. M does in the book.

In other news, I'm running a 10K tomorrow. On a feast day, of course!

I am fasting today too and feel ok so far but it is fairly early for me.

My second fast day today, feeling pretty good as my first fast day was surprisingly easy so fingers crossed today is the same! :smile:
Today I have been baking for my Mum's birthday tomorrow - I have a Hazelnut dacquoise in the oven. I did try the merangue/hazelnut mix to check for taste/sweetness etc but I didn't go overboard or lick the bowl at the end.

Dinner is in about two hours and I have a piece of blue grenadier and will have it some steamed beans and maybe some other kind of vege. I should still be under 500.

Seems from my forum reading that most people find it easiest to just have dinner. I didn't think I'd cope but have found it best, with sometimes just a snack of 30 or 40 cals around 3pm to get me through, usually fruit.

Hi every one this is my first post so please be patient, I have been fasting for 2 months one and have lost 11 pounds which I am delighted with but for the past 2 weeks I have stopped loosing, I am still doing the same any ideas on what's gone wrong .

Well I was going to Fast today but got invited out for lunch so decided to give it a miss. This is the first week since I started in February that I won't have done two fasts. For me one of the benefits of this WOL is its flexibility.
I am on my 2nd fast day , feeling hungry . I have about 100 calories left of the 500. I have to allow quite a bit for milk in coffee as I can not stomach black coffee and would be miserable without my caffeine. Usually my coffee's are half milk and half water then zapped in the microwave. Cutting it to small amounts makes me realize how much milk I have in coffee's [ skim]. I had a 77 calorie cup of soup for lunch 200 calories for dinner. The rest was milk in coffee and water.
I'm supposed to being doing my 4th fast today, but not only is the sun not shining, but we have thunderstorms and torrential rain (yes, this is Cyprus) for the next three days. Taking advantage of having a baking session (to warm the boat) and also preparing a soup for tomorrow when I intend to do my next fast. I live on a boat, so it's a little cramped and my husband wants lots of goodies when it rains!
Today is my first fast day! I'm in India. I've had 120 calories today so far (an egg and a cucumber, with an unsweetened spearmint/green tea blend). Feeling a little hungry, thinking I may walk to the store and see how many calories a yogurt cup has (we don't have the choice in our local stores. I know back in America- I'm an expat- we'd have dozens of different kind of yogurt even sorted by ones worth 80 calories, ones worth 100 calories, and ones worth more. But here I'll be restricted to whatever they have, and they may be out.) But that sounds appetizing.
I am joining you today which is my usual second fast day of the week. Gosh how international this forum has become & how wonderful word has got around about 5:2. I was disappointed with only 1/2 lb weight loss last week so I have changed my breakfast to yoghurt & fruit on eating days to see if lower carbs make a difference. But I did succumbed to a small portion of fish & chips last night because we have a very tempting & convenient fish & chip van that comes to my village once a week. Not a sensible thing to eat but I am pleased to be fasting today & I will keep active with ironing & cleaning & tidying my house. So far one coffee with a splash of milk & water & I will eat this evening. It is rather a grey overcast day in Sussex so far but a sunny warmer weekend is forecast perhaps spring has arrived at last?

Hi All.

Started the day in a bad mood. This is my third week fasting and I have put on 1 pound!!

I have been overeating on feast days so now determined to stop munching on cakes and biscuits on feed days. I am fasting today as I felt so annoyed that I hadn't lost anything and had actually gained. I will have faith in it though and continue to fast.

Almost lunch time and just water and fruit tea so far.

Small portion of chilli for dinner tonight.

I'm fasting today, first one this week as I have had a week off work and lots planned, so looking forward to fasting. I will fast again Tuesday before my weigh in in Wednesday.

Am feeling a bit hungry but I will last until dinner tonight (despite my husband being around and not fasting!) which I find easier after trying breakfast & dinner. About to have a fruit tea which will help.
