In today; my second fast of the week;
not many postings this week maybe the holidays or hot weather.

Well I am off to work soon; into the furnice :frown:

I work in a day centre for old people who have depression. No air con there just two fans for 20 people. Even with the doors and windows open it was 90+ in the building; we don't have a garden just a car park.
Its so difficult to get the clients to take a layer off or drink during the day.

Good luck all fasting today :clover:
Jacksati that sounds awful. It would be definite headache territory for me. Good luck and I hope your fast goes well and you finish work quickly :)

I've been fasting for Ramadan for over a week now and I think my weight is going downward. Will see for sure for my weigh in tomorrow. I find it so hard to eat when I break my fast. I get uncomfortably full very soon after eating and it's so late I don't really have time i'm sure to get my TDEE in.

Not feeling weaker or less healthy for it though apart from one day when I had a migraine and had to stop. I think that was to lack of liquids before I started my fast. Now I am managing to fit in 2 litres of water before each one. It seems to be working so far :)

Good luck to all you liquid fasters today :)
Thanks Umleila,
had cool shower and feeling OK now; no problem with the fast.

I took this job to give me a bit of interest after being made redundant from the university a few years ago. My partner still works full time and as another 6 years to retirement. the job was only a few hours a week but grew and grew; its now four days a week !! and seems more like a real job. I am thinking of trying for three days a week if they agree.
Are you in Manchester at the moment Umleila; sunrise is at 5am sunset is 9:30pm. I think I could manage not eating for that length of time everday but not drinking for 14.5 hours; how do you cope
Anyway Good luck :clover:
Thanks :) good news that your fast is going well :like:

We are not in Manchester yet, but will be on Sunday. We've been staying in Lincolnsjire with my mum. There is only a few minutes difference in the sunsets between here and there. The first few days were the hardest. I think the body can get used to most things given time.

My husband used to work for the university too, at the library. In fact, he is going to be going in for a few weeks when he gets here. Does your husband still work there?
You have it the wrong way round Umleila. My 'wife' we are not married works in Bolton, Preston, Lancaster as a systems manager for a small company. Its too far to commute so she stays over during the week; will be back by 2pm tomorrow.
I worked for UMIST on smart materials; UMIST and Manchester University merged around 10 years ago. I and most of the people at our centre got made redundant about 4 years ago.

I expect it will still be hot and sunny when you get here on Sunday. Manchester international fastival will just be finishing,
Well, I'm on my second 'normal' fast of the week - hah! It is so much easier not eating. I have no problem getting to dinner time but knowing that I'm going to eat sets me off eating - I mean eating! Definitely gone over 500cals but still less than a normal day. On Monday I felt really tired but I feel fine today so I think I'll go back to liquid fasts this coming Monday.

Eek! Sorry for being presumptuous on both counts! Can I blame my fasting brain?
Hi, tried a liquid fast again yesterday but piked out at dinner when I was cooking. Oh well, at least not over the 500 calories though. Have had dental work this week so have hardly been eating because of pain, so probably more hungry than usual and couldn't make it. Hopefully as my mouth settles down I can try liquid fasting again on Monday. Still losing though so all good!
