Tuesday fast October 14th
13 Oct 2014, 20:20
Some days I wake up and can't remember if it's feast or fast. Today is a fast, though I don't think if my reduced calorie day as a fast as I am not fasting, however it does take some willpower and a level of thought rather than hmm what shall I eat now. I am experimenting with having the same breakfast tho a little smaller than my normal workday breakfast. Porridge and Greek yoghurt. Not the usual yoghurt as I was about to buy it when a young bloke next to me says "this is the best yoghurt" holding up a Woolworths brand full of sugary syrup, I tell him I don't like all the sugar and he hands me the fancy Vanilla one. I make this yoghurt he says, really? Yes I can't tell you the company who makes it, but it's one of the big ones. So I bought it (tastes like Jalna to me), but it is rather too flavoursome for me, I prefer plain. Anyway it's OK. So breakfast has been consumed along with 2 coffees, after a night of insomnia. I have a mini protein bar packed and I'll have lunch when I get home. That should do me, along with another coffee:-)

I'm in. I don't usually fast on Tuesday, but it suits my schedule this week…

Good luck, Tuesday fasters!

Hi also fasting today instead of usual Monday. Interesting to see how I fare having developed a fever, headache and chesty cough throughout yesterday. Can't sleep properly and don' want to overdo the painkillers. No work today so the first fast day at home. Good luck to all fellow fasters.

I'm on my way home, hanging for lunch, hungry. We had summer on Sunday today is threatening big storms and cold. Another fast day will soon be over, hoping to get n @ 750 cals again. Planning on going a kg or 2 under goal, sshh don't tell anyone, especially the ones who tell me I am REALLY skinny :-) I'm starting to wear clothes that make me look bigger when I see them LOL. SO I'll start going some 500 cal fasts next month, b4 I go on holiday.

:like: @GMH. Well done for reaching target weight. I know what you mean wanting to drop a bit lower so that your target weight has a bit of room for normal fluctuations ie it becomes your top weight. Then you can maintain much easier. Congratulations!!
I have somehow been stuck at the point where i reach my target weight occasionally after a fast day. But i want to weigh my target weight on a Monday after three eating days. Somehow i seem to not be able to shift the last couple of pounds but at the same time I don't get too worked up about it.
I am sure it will happen when life is not quite so hectic as it is right now. :victory:

I'm in although fasting today goes against everything my body wants to do on a day like this. I've been out and walked the dogs and it's pitch black, cold, blustery and damp. All I want to do is hunker down and eat comfort food. I will have to settle for my steaming mug of black coffee.

Have a good day fasters :like:

Good luck fellow fasters! :clover: I am in today having been pretty mindful and good :like:
- in spite of crisis:
My OH is in hospital overnight having cardiac tests galore to find out if he's had a small heart attack and angina. We had just returned from a good weekend in London when he saw his GP and was promptly taken into hospital while I was at work. Hope I can fetch him later today. He looks very well, has always been very fit. All test results were normal (due to 5:2 with thanks) except the heart damage indicator. We're all glad he's being investigated thoroughly and immediately - says he's doing what he's told - can be tough! So my fast day today is a blessing to keep me focused on keeping well.

@Katharina,
Sorry to hear hubby is having to go through all those tests. It can be quite unnerving! All the best to him and yourself. :)

Hope the hubby is OK Katharina.

I'm fasting today, I quite like a Tuesday fast normally but i feel today may be a struggle as I'm getting hungry already.
Off for some peppermint tea now and to keep myself busy so the fridge stops calling to me!!

I'm in as well. Like others, normally fast on a Monday, but it suited better this week.
It's absolutely freezing here, so may have to have a Bovril soon to warm me up.

I'm in today. I always fast on a Tuesday, have often tried Monday but for some reason can never make it. I'm finding this fasting malarkey pretty cruddy at the mo. Can't seem to lose any more weight and finding I'm hungrier than I used to be. It's not a doddle anymore. Maybe it's the time of year. The non fast days are bad too.
Best wishes for your hubby@Katharina

I'm joining in today, even though I normally do Mondays as well! There seem to be a lot of us who have gotten pushed to Tuesday. I switched days because my hubby has a work dinner out today, and I find it so much easier to fast when I don't have to fix a "normal" dinner for him and the boys. This way I can make the boys some kid-friendly food and stick to my leftover pork loin and roasted butternut squash for a 400-calorie dinner.

I haven't fasted in 4 days, and I feel like this is much harder today. I've overdone it with the indulgent Fall food on my non-fast days-- pumpkin bread, oatmeal raisin cookies, baked ziti and butternut squash risotto! What is it about October in the U.S. that makes me crave comfort food?

Hope you've all done ok today. Personally I'm so hangry I could murder someone! I've planned to do a liquid only fast today but half of my son's leftover sandwich fell into my mouth!! Still I'm well under calories so I'm off to bed now before any further temptations beckon...

Oh and ewoodwor, that's just mean, now all I can think of is bread and cookies etc lovely autumnal comfort food!!

Oh Katharina! I hope things work out well and everyone is happy and healthy! What a nice spin you put on it, to help us focus on being healthy this fast day.

I'm also in today, having switched my Monday. It was a day off here in NYC and I prefer to fast at work. It went pretty well, but I got a little snacky when I got home from work. I need to stick to a plan instead of winging it!
