I think that should be said - or confessed- over in the low-carb - or even better, the Temptation Tent @Wendy Darling
Well, all I got from skimming the last few pages of this thread was that I should wish @Silverdarling a happy fastiversary - Happy Fastiversary, SD! - and that the whole lot of you are loonytunes. And obsessed with seafood. I guess you all see food and...
Hello all - today is my Fastiversary!
Unlike many others I didn't watch the original programme with MM however two of my colleagues did and started the 5:2 regime. I watched from the sidelines and scoffed and said the usual "That CANNOT be good for you" and "Surely you will get hypoglycaemia?"
I had to well and truly eat my words as I started my own journey 12 months ago and I am now 13kg lighter and 1.5kg away from target weight. I have never stuck to a "diet" before for so long and I can safely say I am now in for ever!
To find a way to enjoy food and still lose weight has been life changing for me. I know the health benefits are also there but quite honestly the psychological boost I have received from now being thin has been amazing. Although I was never huge at a size 14-16 I was very unhappy and I felt sluggish and bloated all the time.I think of the hills I used to puff and pant my way up and I now march up without a second thought!
I also believe that 5:2 has been an eye-opener for me in other ways. I am learning what my "greed-triggers" are; boredom, stress and also I use food as a reward. Not being able to eat on fast days has made me find other ways to cope with these emotions. My buddy @lizbean talks about unwrapping stress and trying to deal with the cause instead of trying to forget it with wine!! Although its unlikely I will be giving up wine soon!!!
Thank you to the Fastday forum for being a source of info, experience and friendship It's rare to find such kindness amongst anonymous usernames. I guess we all recognise something in each other - a desire to be healthy and enjoy eating once more!!
Hope you all have a great day!

Yes it's much easier getting up those hills without lugging over 10 kg of spare lard about, isn't it. And not feeling sluggish is so good.
Well done and best of luck with the last bit.
