I second that gorba.
Well done Gorba on squeaky clean blood test results! X
I have just seen today's date! That's 365 days done, 28 lbs gone and 5 inches off my waist! My Fitness pal tells me it is a 16.9 % reduction in body mass.
Happy Fastiversary @Merlin Yes you've had a great year well done with all you've achieved this year alone plus all the new friends made and lunches out. Sue
Edit::: to add happy fastiversary to @Carol Yes you
we don't hear much from you but you're still here

Congratulations to all the fastiversary celebrators!
And I'll be one... sometime soon....
My initiation into 5:2 was very unconventional. I read the NYT article about MM. By the time I finished reading, I knew it was going to work for me. Really. Knew. Like an epiphany. So I started the next day, fasting twice a week. I didn't weigh myself, measure myself, or take note of the date!
So I've been using March 10 as my start date, as that's pretty close at least. And I've been using the weight from the one time in very early 2013 that I weighed myself as a start weight. I was pretty shocked at the time, but who knows if my "actual" (trend) weight was that high. It could have been two or even three pounds lower.
The next time I weighed myself it was the end of June, and I'd lost - approximately - 11 pounds, and was halfway to goal.
So you see, unconventional. Stay tuned for my delighted post this week, with the promised pictures

@wendyjane today is your fastiversary so congratulations and looking forward to your post. I tracked down this thread as today is my fastiversary too.
One year ago I was a very different woman on a few levels had just been retrenched from my dream job. So I was a bit flat, thinking I will just eat and eat so have to do something drastic. The 5:2 concept was in the media and being a faster to cleanse I knew I could fast. My weight had crept up over the stress of knowing my job was going and I was turning into an apple shape which worried me.
I have achieved beyond my dreams. So here are my stats. I bounce between a 11-12kg loss on scales, consistent loss in waist 6 inch and belly 5.5 inches. Clothes down 2 sizes for some brands. Maintaining on 6:1 on a busy week. Started my own business and doing some teaching. Enjoying gym regularly. Prefer perimeter supermarket shopping, cook from scratch with less sugar, crave clean foods and surprisingly eat more fats in my diet, consume a lot less carbs, have bread of substance once a week. Less alcohol too and more water. Survive on bullet coffee on a fluid fast day.
Thank you Moogie and the lovely forum members, am forever grateful, as I knew I needed to lose at least 10kg for my health. I just love being lighter and similar size and shape of my younger me.
