Fastonbury Glamping Grounds

So the Rolling Stones have left the stage, it's still raining and there are wellies scattered everywhere (all left footed )

Ahead of the exciting changes afoot for the site, us mods thought we should initiate a bit of a tidy up around the camp grounds. This includes a bit of a tent tidy. For instance, did you know we have quite a few duplicate tents; those which were started up back in 2013 and are sitting quietly gathering mould in the corner (well, it always rains at Fastonbury doesn't it?!)

I will give you an idea of where we think there are some duplicates and what we thought we could do, although being a democratic bunch, we wanted your input into.

1. Grandparent Light Relief Tent and the new Gorgeous Granny Tent - Merge?? And would the Sassy Senior Tent merge in here too?

2. Forum Buddies and Buddy Chat - Merge?

3. Scenic Route tent and the Scenic Tent - merge?

4. Fast 5 and the 'Window' Tent - Merge?

5. There are two Plateau Tents

6. Hiking/Rambling Tent and the Walking Tent - Merge or are they sufficiently different enough?

And there are several others going back to when the forum started. There are tents whose natural time had come, i.e. Those which are month specific which naturally get rolled up and put into storage. And then we have those specialist tents, e.g. The Camping with a Horse Tent!!!! Bet a few of you didn't know about that one did you?! Oh, and of course the Men Only Tent, only with occasional visitors but equally valuable.

All of the tents have been set up by the campers and as such, are incredibly valuable to all of us with a journey to go on, whether we are there, almost there, or have a way to go yet. For that reason it is important that we all continue to contribute with our own experiences and trials along the way.

So in order to make sure the tents don't end up spilling into the adjacent farmer's field we are proposing that a Mod approve new tents so we can check for duplicates and whether there are any lonely little tents hanging around that just need a spruce up.

So. Opinions sought specifically on the tents above, and generally on the idea of merging tents with the same, or similar names. If you have set up your own tent and are particularly passionate about it, let us know too!

Makes "Tents Sense " Debs!
They do need a reorganize and a respruce and the suggestions you make so far sound good to me x
I am all out for a merger! Couldn't agree more on those Debs. :cute:
Sounds good to me, go for it

Ballerina x
I agree, go for merging similar tents.

Marybeth
im still quite new here so whatever you think is best sounds good to me :)
The Glamping ground does needs a tidy up, I'm sure there are lot's of abandoned and unused tent dotted about but personally would like the hiking/rambling tent and the walking tent kept as they are, I think they are different enough. Thanks for cleaning up after us all :)
Dee
That sounds like a plan to me! I'll find a tractor to scoop up excess wellies! :D
Go for it! It will stop me getting lost!
I agree, it was becoming a city and I'm a country girl.
Thank goodness for mods! We can be a bit of an untidy lot leaving abandoned tents littering the glamping grounds so I'm all in favour of a good spruce up!
Well done and many thanks for de cluttering our campsite sweetie :0)
Oh well - at least there was no mud :hippo: :hippo:
I think the hiking tent and the walking tent are different. And I pitched the walking tent in the 'hot and sweaty' section, not in the Glamping grounds because it isn't an 'off topic' thread. Daily walking is about fitness, I think, even though it's not as hot and sweaty as running. Well done Debs on tidying up the other tents though.
Yes @Sallyo, that is some of the feedback I have been getting which is exactly what I am after. :like:
