Finding a thread
19 Jul 2014, 08:34
There are several old topics which I have started reading but haven't had time to read all of the posts, I can't work out how to get back to them the next time I'm here. I try using search but it just tells me that the words are too common. Is there a way of getting back to the interesting threads? I've just noticed that you can bookmark them but it's too late for that now, they are hiding among the millions of threads and topics that have been and gone.

Yes, it's difficult and is a possible with forums generally I think. I tried to distill our accumulated knowledge into the fasting pages to prevent it getting lost but that doesn't help to find discussions. Sometimes Google gives better results because you can insist it finds this common words by putting quote marks around them.

The forum's advanced search sometimes works.

I will ask the tech team if we can improve it somehow.

Thank you @carorees, I managed to find one of the threads, in future I'll bookmark anything I want to get back to.

Ask them to install "regular expression" support. With it, you can find anything...
