Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I'm new to this diet, just finishing up my first fast day. So far it hasn't been as bad as I thought! I'm diabetic so I was afraid I would be struggling with lows all day, but I haven't! Yay! I'm hoping this diet will retrain not to eat at the first little hunger quiver. Of course the hardest will be tonight when I'm sitting in front of the TV. Wish me luck!

Many of us on here can attest to the effectiveness of 5:2 fasting - so you are in very good company!
My best advice is to read as much as you can on here - because there is so much useful information. Throw yourself into the forum - post on the Fasting Today thread whenever you are fasting - it will help you feel like you are not alone - others are joining you and are there to offer support and advice.
Finally, don't just weigh yourself....get the tape measure out and record your vitals! Then, periodically, say once a month, revisit the tape measure and record the numbers - you'll see how well you are progressing and it is a great motivator.
Best of luck!
