I followed 5:2 for 10 months or so about 4 years ago and lost almost a stone in the first 3 months. I did initially keep it off by reducing my fast days to one per week, but have since strayed (widely) from the straight and narrow. A changing life situation (I'm now retired) and a lot of stress over the last few years have seen me put back on that stone (and more).
I'm now looking to rediscover the feeling of lightness and well-being I remember from fasting and lose about a stone and a half in the process. I'm also very interested in the health benefits of IF as I have a strong family history of diabetes and take medication for high blood pressure. As I'll be 60 next year I would like to be confident that I'm doing the best I can to stay as fit and active as possible, so that I can fully enjoy my retirement.
