Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello from a Newbie.

Hi

My name is jess and I am from the north of England... well the south originally but I now live up north, as they say. I work in education, and have two lovely under 5s. I run every week... if really slowly.

I did the 5:2 after my child with some success and then put on shed load of weight with my son. I did not fast while breastfeeding and I couldn't manage the hunger and as such have stayed firmly plump. But now is the time and I am ready to go again. Had my second fast day today and I think I may try 4:3 rather than 5:2 to try and kick start it all.
I have a fair bit to lose 60+ lbs.
There you go that's a little about me. X

Welcome Jess! We're happy to have you here :-) Well of course you didn't fast while pregnant or breastfeeding. But now is a great time to start .

If you find 4:3 too difficult (some people really do) you could try reducing your carbs or trying some "eating windows. For example, you could make Monday and Thursday your fast day, then as many days a week as possible try having only unsweetened tea or coffee for breakfast. That way you're only eating from noon to 8pm.
