Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello!
I have Michael Mosley's new book on order "The 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet". It should arrive Thursday from the U.K., and I plan to start on Monday. I was very interested in this book because I have pre-diabetes, and he has a version of 5:2 in it suited for diabetics. You start on 800 calories per fasting day instead of 500, the reasoning being that for those of us with blood sugar issues, 500 is HARD, and I agree. It was very hard for me to stick to, with my out-of-whack blood sugar and resulting hunger.

Anyway, I'm glad I'm finally doing something. I could have waited two months for the U.S version, but I'm anxious to start low carbing/5:2ing sooner than later. I'd rather those exorbitant shipping fees to amazon go toward this book instead of another wasted month at Weight Watchers!
Welcome to the forums!! I haven't read that one yet, but I'm interested to see it once it's released here.

I have gone from a 22 to a 16, so I'm quite pleased with fasting overall. I just need to get more motivated again. I've been stuck at this size for a while now. :-/

Good luck fighting your prediabetes :-)
Thank you very much! What I wouldn't give to be a size 16 again. Congratulations!!
Welcome @happysheryl let us knowwhat you think of yr book and good luck with following it.
I agree wih you re @tracieknits..i would be beyond thrilled to be size 16 again..! X
Hang in there! I see a size 16 or 14 or 12 in your future! It just takes getting in the rhythm of the fasting and whatever else we do to get and stay healthy. When you get your book and have time to digest ( ) it, give us your take on it.
