Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I believe that on the 800 calorie version Dr Mosley says you need to ear Mediterranean style the rest of the week, ie low carb, good fats, real food. So it's more of a full time diet. That said, even on 800 cals twice a week you should be at a calorie deficit and gain some benefits of fasting (ADF has always been 800 calories after all) so if it works for you and you can stick to it, that's what matters

I always say any reduction in calories is a good reduction and far better than no reduction at all!!

Whole foods eating and reducing sugar, as per the Mediterranean diet, is good to aim for whatever your fasting regime. Whatever you choose to do, though, needs to be sustainable for you.
Best wishes!
