The FastDay Forum

Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I'm Anna, always been naturally slim, but with age weight has crept on, now 2 stone overweight. I feel uncomfortable, bloated, my clothes don't fit anymore. Tried various diets but been unsuccessful.
So, decided to give this one a go after hearing good reports!

Hi @Anna789 and welcome.

All the best with the start of this new way of eating. I don't see 5:2 as a diet in the normal sense, but more a way of changing the way you eat which can lead to many health benefits as well as shedding a few pounds.

For lots of useful info read up on all the great information in the Learn section of this site, and if you haven't seen it - have a look at Michael Mosely's documentary "Eat Fast and Live Longer" - available on line (try http://documentaryvine.com/video/eat-fast-live-longer/). This is the program that kick started the 5:2 way of life.

Lots of people here to help you, so feel free to post questions and updates, and tell us a bit more about yourself.

cheers
Merry
