I just started the 5:2 this week. I've done it before for a few weeks but was interrupted with travel and life stuff. This time I'm determined to get to my goal weight which is 20lbs away. This is the most weight I've ever had to lose but I'm 51 now and have a far more sedentary lifestyle so I'm not that surprised that my weight has crept up. I haven't owned a scales for years and I was terrified of standing on it but now I've done it and know that I am not imagining my weight gain it's time to take action! I am fasting Mondays and Tuesdays and eating lighter and healthier the rest of the week too (at least that's my plan). I'm also trying not to have a glass of wine or two every evening and keep alcohol as a weekend treat. I'm trying to get into a pilates and treadmill routine too but that's harder! Anyway, nice to know there are others out there on the same journey, I hope by signing up here it will encourage me to keep going! I just dream of a time in the future when I can encourage others who are just starting out (when I am closer to my goal weight and feeling happier about my body!!)
