Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

New to 5:2 - 16 pounds to lose
13 Feb 2013, 13:32
Hi Everyone,

I have just started the fasting diet this week, today is my 2nd fast day as Monday was the first. I am finding things ok but realise how much I ate out of habit rather than hunger before so this is really retraining my mind and attitude towards food. I am 5ft 7in and weigh 11st 3, would like to get down to 10st in the next few months but not sure how much I can expect to lose on this. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks!

Katy
Hi Katy,
I started just over a week ago, fasting Mondays and Tuesdays and lost 5lbs in first weeek. I agree it's about changing habits and I find if I can keep busy and keep my mind off food I can get though the fasting days ok.
