I am new to the 5:2 and also to forums. I started last week and after two "fast days" lost 3lbs and was delighted. I saw the Horizon programme some time ago, and was fascinated, but did not get around to joining in til now. Like other members I have also tried many diets, but I truly believe this will work as it is a life style rather than a diet, and all the additional possible health benefits sound pretty good as well. I found that it seems to work for me to have three small meals a day as I do not like feeling hungry (I used to suffer with a stomach ulcer years ago so have to be careful). I am a vegetarian and I find having a sachet of Oats So Simple in the morning (made with water and not milk - 128 calories), keeps me going to lunch-time. Then I have a Weight Watchers Tomatoe & Basil Soup at 77 calories for lunch, and finish off in the evening with a salad and Quorn Goats Cheese & Cranberry Escalope at 290 calories, and I feel I have eaten quite well. I got my husband to try this as well, and I have been telling everyone I know about it.
