Hi, everyone. I'm Fat Dormouse. Mr FD and I have just started the 5:2 diet - it's our second fast day today. Did anyone else find they were incredibly thirsty the day AFTER their fast day? How can we avoid this? Is it just by drinking lots during the fast day? We're trying this today - I've had 2 x cups of coffee, 2 x cups lemon tea, 2 x 250 ml glasses of sparkling water. I can't stop going to the loo!!!

Hi Mrs Dormouse, and welcome :)

I've not had the problem of being thirsty the day after, but then I always try to drink 1.5-2+ litres of water each day. Apparently the more water you drink, the less fluid you retain, so if you've been drinking more than normal on your fasts you may well need to drink more on your feed days too. It's a good way of keeping down water weight as your body will get used to having a good supply of fluid all the time :)

Let us know how you get on with the extra fluid intake!
