Hello to you all

Partner and I have just consumed breakfast following our second fast day. Seems to be going well so far, though he is not so keen on the "spacey"feeling we are experiencing in the afternoon. We are having breakfast and evening meal but this might change in the future. We really love soup so any lovely recipes you have would be gratefully received, :-) -

Welcome to the forum piglet1 and I see you are already a posting expert ;)

Fasting does feel a bit weird at first, I think it's to do with the body switching from burning carbs to burning fat. The good news is that your body seems to get used to doing this switch so fasting gets easier after the first week or two. It also seems to help many of us if we keep carbs low the night before a fast as well as on a fasting day.

Sorry I can't help with soup recipes, my best soups come out of a carton, but I think you might find some suggestions on the Recipes Board - just click on the Board Index (top left). Or use the Search box (or advanced search) to hunt for soup.

Thanks Dominic. Peversely (is that how you spell it?!)I quite like the spacey feeling, gives me a different perspective on an otherwise boring day at work! I found it passed by the time I got home and started preparing the evening meal (about 300 cals). I hope that this gets better for my partner in the future.

Hmm, 5:2 as a 'trip' - well if it works for you!.... If your partner wants to relieve the feeling the best thing is probably plenty of liquid and maybe some salt - perhaps some vegetable bouillon, or some celery sticks with salt or soy sauce? The spacey feeling might be dehydration which apparently is often down to low sodium and/or low water. Just a thought for next time. Enjoy your 300 cals!
