New to 5:2!
18 Feb 2013, 11:03
Morning,

I am new to 5:2 watched the programme with interest and just finished the book, and i have decided to go for it!

today is my first day, i am going to fast on Mondays and Thursdays along with my husband, we both need to lose weight, i am initially starting this way of eating as a weight loss tool, but i am extremely interested in the health benefits too. I have decided to weigh myself once a week on a Friday morning, but i am a little confused as to what to do on my feed days? do i track calories on these days? i am 5ft 7 and weigh 13 stone  which i have been for three years, unfortunately i am a comfort eater! my son was unwell and had to spend three months in hospital i lost a lot of weight very quickly (and didnt need to at this point), but unfortunately i put this all back on and then some in the process, anyway, life is normal but my weight isnt! so feed days do you calorie count on these days? i did check out my calorie intake on the calculator which i think if i read it right was 1800 calories to maintain weight and 1500 to lose weight, im guessing on my feed days i stick to 1800 calories?

this WOE seems great, i just hope it is! i am very inspired!

today i have had so far:

one orange
100g rachels organic low fat yog

for lunch i am having - glorious soup - 120 cals per 300g
one apple

does this sound ok? i have tracked it on the myfitnesspal app and it comes in at 500 cals for the day!

thanks
