Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello

I came across this website after doing a search on water fasting as a way to kick start my body into a healthier state, I remember watching the Horizon program & was very impressed by the findings.I could do with losing between one & two stone but I am more interested in the health benefits of the 5:2 as I have a lot of stomach problems & had to have my gallbladder removed last year. This is day one of the 5:2 & I feel very positive. so thats a bit about me & Im looking forward to joining in with the group. :D

Hi Moofish,
Goodluck with day one, the first step is always the hardest(or so Im telling myself). Yeah I know where your coming from with the looking forward to it feeling, but Im suffering atm as I cook tea for the kids & hubby (who btw has just bought me a mars bar, something he has never been inclind to do before, grrr !!) but I shall resist & stay strong, tomorrow will be better :)

Hiya Shazzam, welcome!

I'm also really interested in the health benefits of 5:2, I've lost nearly 3 stone over the last two years but would like to lose a little more too. I also had my gallbladder out a couple of years ago and still struggle digestion wise sometimes though a lot less on fast days.

Hope your first day goes really well :D

Hi Snowflake, thanks for the warm welcome. Well done on your weight loss so far, Im glad to hear your digestion problems are less on fast days as thats one of the reasons for me undertaking this, although Im thankfull I have no more GB pain, digestion can still be a problem. I find a good quality probiotic also helps.

Hi Shazzam,
He would bring a Mars bar on Day One ;-) Tomorrow will be a lot better and there are lots of great people on here who can help too.

Hi Snowflake,
I lost 25kgs around 2/3 yrs ago and 5 kilos have crept back on so very keen to nip it in the bud and get back on track! A good quality natural yoghurt is also great to have to hand for digestion. Mint tea is also great!
