For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi there,,,

Taking the plunge here. I lost some weight before Christmas but want to loose more, with out giving up the good things in life... I note there are like minded people here, so I hope you can help :-)

Just coming off an infection so will start slowly ....any words of encouragement for a first timer here ???

Hi Cec & welcome :) I'm sure you'll do great on 5:2, most of us still eat all our favourite things and are still losing weight. I probably indulge a little too much but even 6 month in I'm still losing weight and don't feel restricted at all! Love it :)

Hi Cec - lots of friendly people and bags of advice here - so welcome! :) I've been dieting seriously for about a year now - and on 5:2 since November - have lost 3st in total (another 2.5 to go!) - this is by far the best weight loss programme that I've ever been on - and has so many other potential benefits too - where can we go wrong! All I would say is that the first few fast days are quite hard for some people (me being one of them) lots of stomach rumblings and headaches were my problems - but have since overcome them and this is now a way of life, not a 'diet'. Good luck - hope all goes well for you. :lol:
