Im new here, started the 5:2 fasting diet yesterday and did suprisingly ok on my first fasting day, am using my fitness pal to log my food so i can keep an eye on my calories until i learn what resembles 500 cals! Today is a feast day and planning to do my 2nd fast day on Thursday, trying to tie them in with my night shifts as i sleep most of these days for around 4 hours and find my appetite is less on these days. I have tried various diets over the years and am hoping ive finally found something that suits my busy lifestyle.....am nervous about 1st weigh in, so heres hoping and looking forward to making new friends on here

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Its not as difficult as i thought it would be, how long a gap are you leaving between eating? i had one weetabix yesterday, skipped lunch and then lasted til about 6:30 (11 hours in total) and had a 2 egg omlette with salad and chicken and even had enough cals left for some strawberries. Hope this plan works for you too, have u got much weight to lose? i could do with losing 4 stone!
I'm doing the diet for the famed health benefits and more to loose body fat rather than become a specific weight although weight loss would be nice if it happens!
