Fast day disaster!
19 Feb 2013, 22:47
3rd fast day yesterday and partner and I were doing really well - porridge for breakfast, then noting but water and green tea until about 8pm when I made a lovely butternut squash soup for about 260 calories. Partner had about 100cals left and I had about 30 and we'd had no protein so I looked around for something else to have. I found some pistachio nuts in the cupboard and decided to serve some up. Unfortunately I misread how many calories there were in 100g of nuts and we ended up consuming loads more than we should have!I feel really bad because we were doing so well and though it wasn't a breeze, we both coped with the long period between eating much better than the week before. I was tired and I think I just misread the amount of calories. I hope this won't make too much difference as we still have a fast day to go this week.
Very disappointing! As I've said in a previous post, must concentrate more! :(

Hey don't worry about it. Tomorrow is another day. I'm new to this forum and am reading everyone's comments and learning a lot. I think if over the course of the week your total calories are lowered then you will see the results you want. Good luck.

I put on 2 pounds after 2 fasts and 5 normal days. Must have eaten more than I thought I had on my fast days. I'm fasting tomorrow and will try to go 24 hrs after breakfast. Have a pilates session booked at 9am and a facial at 1pm. Must keep busy in the evening to stop putting food in my mouth. :)

Thank you for your support. :)

Yesterday's fast was much better; I didn't really feel hungry all day and actually didn't have all the calories I was due because I just didn't fancy any more food after having my lovely Thai salad. I had more problems with the thought of being without food for most of the day than the actual fasting!

I think I feel ligher and I'm sure my jeans seem looser today! :D

Hi, hope I'm doing this right, fasted today and had a fat free yoghurt (90 cals) for breakfast, nothing except 3 cups of tea(made from half pint of milk (130 cals), then at 6 had a slimming ready made meal (196 cals), hot bath and bed! Ha ha! It's a lot easier than other diets!
If you put on weight at the end of the week, maybe you have to do 2 weeks to see a result?

Well done, sometimes it's just thinking about not eating that is worse than actually not eating! I hope you have enjoyed your eating day today, I am on a fasting day and already thinking about what I will eat for breakfast!

I've posted this lots but in my case, my weight goes up and down about 5 lbs per day! I lose a pound a week, that's the 3500 cals restriction, there's no way that's going to register in a week on the scales.

I can only see it as a downward trend over weeks...as the ups and down cancel out the minor down, if you see what I mean?

I read somewhere on this forum the best quote ever: "There is no failure, only feedback" . So, one more progress step on the learning curve. Sounds like you are right on track and very determined, so one small miscalculation will be easily overcome. Yesterday I did my second fast day, and finally got that feeling hungry is not a life-threatening condition ;). It comes, it goes, it comes again. No biggie. Am cautiously optimistic that I have found a way to finally reach my health goals. Here's to our mutual success.

PS am very new to forums, so have only worked out how to reply. Thanks for the opportunity and inspiration.
